Does anyone know what screening is done to prospective police officers? Does anyone know who in Stockbridge would have made the decision to hire John Torres even after he was fired from Lansing as a police officer following his fatal drunk driving crash he was arrested for. I think this was not being Mr law-a-bider. Torres pleaded not guilty when he was arrested when his blood alcohol test proved he was. I think that was not being Mr. Truthful either. Does anyone know who made the decision to hire Torres & give him the authority to make decisions on who should go to jail & then testify in court, with people expecting to believe him because he is a police oficer?

They don't need this law, anyone accepting an appointed office or an elected office in government, should not only expect drug and alcohol testing on hire and randomly after hire, but they should also get a pre-hire polygraph and post hire polygraphs at random and for just cause.

If you illiminiate all criminals from public office then we have to start all over again. What a great concept. Lets start again with public servants instead of government officials. No career politicians only those who obey their oath of office and abide by and respect the constitution of the USA.

Correction:
Given that the county is run by Muslims, I doubt they are living high off the hog. More likely they eat Halal and French.

I think a politician should be ban for life from holdng a public office position for any kind of crime committed. Pubic office positions should set an example. And it someone writes a bad check they have time to make it good or make payment arrangements.

You can't take away a constitutional right, regardless of the party they vote for. This is another idiot republican scam to eliminate people who don't vote for them.

The legal system is a joke the average person gets slammed for any infraction, but politicians never go to jail for anything, in fact "we don't look backwards on their crimes", anyone supporting this is basing their politics on hate, and Michigan has had enough of that. The people stay divided because they listen to the propaganda spewed by the media and the politicians... While we are all arguing with each other because of the unfairness of it all, politicians gleefully take away our constitutional rights...The constitution gives us the right to the opportunity to do better for ourselves, it does not give the politicians or the people the right to take what one American has earned and give it to another American who did not work for it... In the brilliance and simplicity of the constitution what someone works for they get to keep, that is FAIR!!!!Wake-up our president does not believe this simple constitutional principle!!!!
