I checked, by phone, on family in Skiatook and they have reported that the flooding is not really that bad in town and that it is getting better.

The Chamber of commerce would like to ease the minds of future visitors, travelors, and lake goers to WATCH OUT for those intersections, stop signs, and speed limits. The flooding area that took place ONLY on the East side of town on April 10th, was due to the overflow of Bird Creek. To clarify some matters. John Zink park is not in the middle of town and the whole town was not flooded. Some individuals on the East side of town refused to evacuate. Yes, there was boat load of fun for some citizens who enjoy the water. It was a chance to get out the 2 man boats and canoes to enjoy some paddleing.
