Oklahoma Tribes Receive Millions in Stimulus

The Cherokees built ramps in Mary Sisk's home with stimulus money. Some Oklahoma contractors hope to have two to three years worth of work because of tribal stimulus money.

ted foster, i couldn't have said it any better. our people have been cheated and lied to for years. at least obama is admitting we're here and deserve something-thats more than you can say for the previous adminstration

At least they are using the money for its intended use. It should be considered a good example for others.

Its amazing that the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma will receive these funds when they have members sitting on governing boards that where fired for failing drug test. In order to receive any type of benefit from the tribe, you have to related to the governing board. Rest of us, have to suffer while others get priority treatment. There are fake CDIB membership cards givin out and you don't even have to prove your ndn. These was uncovered by an audit team but they were quickly fired about their return to Oklahoma. The Government needs to check into this and stop the hand outs to this tribe until a thorough investigation has been done

I have yet to understand why any gambling casino needs stimulus funds. Native Americans, homeless, mental patients, uninsured people need help--not gambling joints that are by their very nature corrupt.
