Holy good hell. Fox has made the playoffs three consecutive season. They were state semifinalists in 08 and quarterfinalists in 09. Huge turnover of the roster contributed to a subpar season this year.

Fox beat SLUH and Oakville to reach the semifinals in 08.(SLUH had top 100 recruit Ronnie Wingo toting the rock for them that year.)

In 09 Fox beat undefeated and Suburban West Conference champion Lindbergh to reach the quarterfinals.

about time they get a couple of wins against schools that are known for good football. but still over all fox or seckman doesnt do that good at football. fox's 08 and 09 seasons were probley their best ever in school history. 08 and 09 are the schools only winning seasons i have ever heard. fox and seckman are normally consistently good at wrestling, softball and volleyball. not football.

Hey Rage, get your facts straight before you spout off. Just because they are the only winning seasons YOU have heard of doesn't make it so. Do some research. Part of the problem, too many boys who aren't willing to put in the hours Fox coaches demand. They start with workouts about three weeks after the end of the season and will continue until the beginning of next year's season. If you would actually talk to the boys many will tell you they are too lazy and it's too much time. They want free time to do what they want. Don't get me started on what that is.

i do have my facts straight. the research shows fox has not had good football program since the earliy 80's. i have had 2 of my brothers that went to fox in the 90's and fox football was a losing program then. and for the [free time] you are talking about i think i know what your talking about. when i was at seckman the same thing was happening. seckman's 1st freshman class was undefeated then by the next year most of the good players they had off of that team didnt play their sophomore year. because they too wanted their free time. coaches dont like free time.

3b Rage, You said, "08 and09 are the only winning seasons I have ever heard." Those are your words. Granted, it was a while ago, but there have been winning seasons before. Did your brothers play football at Fox? Don't you think boys should be working out in order to be strong enough to play and be good? If they would do it on their own, that's okay, but few are self-disciplined enough. They are kids. Why do you think the teams aren't very good? You've got a great coach at Seckman for next year. So you should be happy.

Or maybe the kids realize there are more important things in life than working out and football.

my brothers didnt play football, was not interested. when i came to seckman they started the BIGGER FASTER STRONGER program and yes its wrong to make the players work out year long just to make the team. if one player out proforms another player on the feild then he wins the spot. but i guess they have not changed their ways. i dont think the teams are very good for the same reasons you and i agree on, but i started this topix also to see if maybe there are any other reasons. id like to see the two schools do better consistently.

Who wouldn't. I believe in working out to be better for the team. Not sure it needs to be 12 months, but at least the coaches don't expect more from the players than they are willing to do. At least the Fox coaches talk the talk and walk the walk. Also, some of the boys need to be working out to stay out of trouble. It's all a Catch-22: they don't want to play because the teams are no good, the teams are no good because boys won't play. Go up to the school and see how many boys are walking around that could be helpful on the team but just don't want to play. Since you seem to know what you're talking about, you'll agree with this- you can only do the best with what you have to work with. If 6'5" 200 +lb boys would rather get high after school (as he said) what is a coach to do? We both know that a boy who never works out and can out perform the one who does, well that's the exception and not the rule. I don't know why boys won't play football. I've been involved at Fox for over 30 years and have wondered. Coaching is important, but it helps if you have more than one Levi Terrell, and he worked out all of the time!

My son went to Seckman and played football for two years.

Then he quit.

He showed up for every practice, participated in Bigger-Faster-Stronger---

and was "coached" by someone who barely seemed to know the fundamentals of football. He often sat on the sidelines with little playing time along with many other players who were never given a chance.

He ended up quitting mid-season because he was frequently passed over in favor of the "all stars", who weren't always better players, but just had parents who made more time to suck up to the coaches.

No fond memories there.

Did it ever occur to you the fruit of your loins may have produced a slow and unable human. Be honest with yourself. No coach will ever take an inbred poodle to a dog fight

It's all about the athletes. Not to disrespect any of the kids that suit up for the Fox or Seckman teams but a majority of the teams that they play are schools that participate in the deseg program. It is tough for schools such as Fox or Seckman to compete week in and week out with teams that have superior athletets.

A qualified coach wouldn't let himself be distracted with sniffing all the bitches showing him their tails.

My 2 sons both played football at Seckman. My older son played freshman and JV before Freeman sucked the fun out of it for him.

My younger son is a sophomore and injured his knee before the first game was played. Freeman couldn't have given a $#%&. My son had to have surgery, so I'm not sure if I even want him to continue playing, but it will be his decision. I hope Critchlow at least cares about his players.

I'm not one of those fanny kissers (I figure once they're in high school, these kids need to earn things and learn how to deal with success and failure without parental intervention). It's a shame that coaches pay attention to the parents. If I were coaching there and a parent was trying to brown nose, I'd give the kid less playing time.
