Some of the houses on that street need to be cleaned up. The house by the railroad tracks looks like its going to fall in. Not sure if they are using all of the broken stoves and grills on the porch. Lets get that mess clened up its a real eyesore.

no codes, no clean up requirement. one mans junk is a treasure to another. and some people decide to save up the money to fix their houses with CASH instead of taking out a loan. that's the route i am going.

Remsen holds a free "dump day" twice a year. Spring and fall. The next one is May 4th. If your property taxes are current, you can bring one truck load of junk to the highway dept for free. You do have to get a permit from the town hall before the 4th though. Help clean up the village and not spend alot of $$$

It's too bad that the town garbage day limits you to one truckload. A tractor trailer wouldn't be big enough for this junkyard.

Sorry, You're right, property taxes don't need to be current in order to take stuff to dump day, so let's take full advantage of the services the town provides with our tax dollars to make the village and town look nicer .Instead of simply complaining about tax costs and run down properties, pick up a ballot and a garbage bag and take some action.

Your taxes pay for the program but to use It is FREE. Call the Town Hall for details. Don't listen to people on this forum. It is that kind of misinformation that discourages people for cleaning up their properties.
