Mr. Lucason can criticize no more, he was fired. A teacher and coach who so many adored over the years, no more... see ya! Too bad, the district just seems to be sliding further and further down the sh*t hole anyways.

He should have known he was shooting himself in the foot by criticizing the school (Queen Davis). Things were settling down..... until Phil got the axe yesterday.

Thanks to tenure he can't be fired, but the man is so dumb he'll probably believe he was and stay home. We can only hope.

exactly.

Besides, many other school districts did not cancel and nobody died so Holland Patent superintendent did nothing wrong. One fatal accident out of how many kids that go to that school and they want to hang her? Seriously? Not even any of the HP school buses were in any accidents that day.

If his words were defamation of character or created a hostile work environment for kids and faculty tenure can't save his ass. Free speech doesn't trump defamation of character. I hope she lawyers up.

No, actually, you are. Your ice is melting, Lou Sir.

The teacher blatantly and very publicly committed insubordination and was appropriately fired.

There was no reason to cancel school that day. Lay blame with DOT and DPW crews who failed to clear roads properly that day. Lots of areas had shoddy plowing, not just where the accident happened.

What the teacher did was wrong! If he had an issue, he should have gone through the proper channels. Instead he decided to use Facebook and use the children to do his bidding. There are several ways to contact the media! He is a coward and a bully! Now that he has "shown his true colors" and the fact that he does not care about the children, he needs to go!

As usual Ann, your legal opinions are worth less than the men's jogging suit you like to wear.

Amy, Mr. Lucason is not a great teacher. He's not standing up for what he believes in. He's hiding behind innocent children and uninformed parents hoping they will do his bidding for him. It's not about the Yagey family to him. Where was he at the funeral? Or the calling hours? No where to be found. A good teacher promotes honesty, integrity, intelligence and fairness. He is promoting an agenda of hate and divisiveness. Look at the really good teachers you have. They are so busy making sure you receive a quality education they don't have time to engage in such ugliness. It's understandable that a teenager would admire him for speaking his mind, but consider his message. He's not a concerned parent but a disgruntled teacher who has made too many mistakes so he has to make lots of noise and point the finger at someone else. Any intelligent person who really wants to initiate change goes through the proper channels because they know that's the only way to convince people. They don't cause wars that grow out of control. Everyday we fight bullying among our students and yet we continue to pay this man to bully our children. It's a shame that you can't see through his mask and realize the person he really is. I guarantee that if you could you wouldn't believe another word he said.

Where are all the good teachers? While I was in school Mr Lucason, Coach Bubb, Mr Garrett, Mr Kotwica, Mrs Hast, Mrs Moseman, Coach Richard, Mr Zacek and Mrs Sullivan were the teachers you went to if you had a problem. They care about the students. How many of them are still there 8 years after I graduated? Coach Bubb isn't. Mr Garrett isn't. Both who stood up for the students. How many teachers bite their tongues to avoid being dismissed or forced into retirement because they don't like what is being done by the people that are in charge? Mr Lucason is a great teacher. He helped me graduate and helped make me a productive member of society. I use the information I gained from his teachings and from his life lessons every day. How many people can say that a teacher gave them anything they can use in real life? Mr Lucason also said he was speaking out as a parent not as a teacher. He's right. There needs to be an investigation into Kathy Davis for all the decisions she has made. There are multiple times she has not put the safety of the children first. How many people remember the school bus shooting in 2007? Or the riot in 2009? Or the school bus driver in 2009 and 2010? Or the arena budget, that included a raise for her every year for 10 years? Or the $30,000 raise she got last year while many of staffers did not because of her raise? I just named off the items I know about and have spoken out against every time she does something against the safety of children or just plain unreasonable. The accident was the final straw for many of members of the Holland Patent school district. So voice of reason what year did you have Mr Lucason?

You obviously have no idea what goes on at school on a daily basis in the name of student safety. Ask the teachers (and no, I'm not one of them) how many times a day they are inconvenienced because of the safety measures that have been put in place. You mentioned three occurrences (I'm fairly certain there's never been a "riot" in HP) in all the years this superintendent has been in charge - none of which were the result of a district decision. What's your response going to be when any investigation shows that on every other single day, all of the students have arrived, spent their day and returned home completely safe?
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and if posting nonsense is the "productive member of society" that Lucason helped create, then God help the rest of the students who have had the misfortune of his influence.

Doesn't answer my question. When did you graduate from Holland Patent? When was the last time you were in the school?
