Has anyone ever heard of "Buyer Beware"? Do your homework, make comparisons and don't listen to door-to-door salespeople. Just say NO!

Last year my wife had two guys suing they were from Columbia gas and asked to see our bill. I came home from work right in the middle of it, and asked to see their I.D. They started to dodge the question, and told them to leave before I call the police. We haven't had a problem since then.

See what happens when the state allows competition, but the PUCO doesn't do its homework in allowing these companies to come in and rob people. Be careful what u ask for.

PUCO is just another government agency full of do-nothing government employees. All fairy tales, nothing more!

Just Google complaints Just Energy and you will see what customers think of them. Apparently they are out of Chicago, Ill. and their BBB rated them F. Doesn't PUCO here in Columbus check out new companies and see how they do business before they let them do business here in Columbus. I thought the PUCO was to protect the consumers. I know senior citizens that live around me and fell for their save money speech. It only took me a few seconds to research this company and luckily the seniors got to cancel before they locked into a five year contract.

In response to "Nick" and "Concerned Customer," didn't you read the story? The PUCO are leading an investigation of the company, and they have condemned the company's actions in pretty harsh terms.

I can understand complaining about some of the PUCO's past inaction on consumer issues, but it seems really unfair to do so here.

WhatI find interesting is that the lines are owned by columbia gas, yet transmit several differenct companies natural gas!

How do I know if I were to buy into this fantasy I am getting the gas I am contracting for?

"This is really above and beyond" the severity of complaints seen before, said Ohio Consumers' Counsel Janine Migden-Ostrander, the state's top consumer advocate on utility issues. "That's why it is so important to take corrective action immediately."

"But the PUCO says Just Energy has been unresponsive to the agency's attempts to resolve the problem. It has scheduled hearings in an effort to prompt changes."

PUCO immediately acted and scheduled future hearings. Meanwhile, hundreds of Ohio citizens are being ripped off daily.

The U.S. is best described as one GIGANTIC scam, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea. Accordingly, this story about the gas company's habitual lying to the public hardly qualifies as "news". That is, have you ever known a company NOT to lie to the public? The whole premise of our capitalist system is to lie and steal as much as one can and the big corporations are leading the way.

I told you so.

That is probably one of the most nauseating posts I think I've ever read. You are one dark nasty. Advocating the ripping off of poor, undereducated rural people just so you can have the last laugh? Are you freaking kidding me? Thats like saying its ok for a door to door 'salesman' to sell an individual-- gasoline. Bizarro. Nat gas is a traded commodity just like GAS. It is NOT a door to door hard sell situation. It is an industry to industry traded commodity- and the complicated knowledge required to know how to effectively BUY a commodity. pre-market- does NOT transfer at all-to after-mkt- non corporate public.

Your communistic Ayn Rand BS needs a reality chek, hon.

HUH? Did you reply to the wrong post or something? "Buyer beware" is one of the best pieces of advise anyone will ever get!

And if you think Ayn Rand is communistic, well then <sigh>, you MUST be a product of our brilliant public education system. Try a little research, hon.(That's when you look it up yourself instead of just parroting what you've been taught.)

From Wikipedia:

"Rand's political views, reflected in both her fiction and her theoretical work, emphasize individual rights (including property rights) and laissez-faire capitalism, enforced by a constitutionally limited government. She was a fierce opponent of all forms of collectivism and statism, including fascism, communism, socialism, and the welfare state, and promoted ethical egoism while rejecting the ethic of altruism."

Wow! I applied to "Just Energy" on an online job board. it stated 20-25 dollars an hour All positions. I thought wow good pay I just hope it wasn't door to door sales. They call me for a interview. I asked "is this door to door sales." "No sir we are hiring all positions sir."
So i dress up(business suite) and its about an hour one way over to there. I come into this place There had to of be 50-60 people coming out of these place it's on the backside of a building all employees(which is first thing should of tipped me off)
I came in the introduced myself to the receptionist told her i was there for a Interview. she shoves a clipboard into my gut says "fill this out"( i'm thinking gee thanks) pop Music is blaring so loud you can bearly think. So i thought maybe this isn't the regular receptionist and I'll still interview.
I go into the "president's office"
We start talking about pay. he said this is door to door sales and its 50 bucks per subscription you get to sign. I said "your person who asked me to come in said you guys were hiring all positions." he said "well i'm sorry that's all i have." I said "secondly, in the ad it says 20-25 bucks an hour." he said "if you do a good job selling that's what you make." I said "I said what do you make if I don't complete the sale." he said "nothing." I said "This interview is over futher more I'm turning you into the BBB and your job ad is a scam.

Google "PUCO Apples to Apples" And you can see the actual rates. PUCO has a nice Web Site that lets you do real comparison shoopping.

Don't listen to scammers coming door to door.
