I certainly hope that the companies and cities all kept their copies of the Manifests. Im positive the originals were destroyed. I think it's wrong that they should be held liable for the cleanup, and the one's that should be held responsible arent because they cant pay. We are all held responsible for our messes, should they be any different? If a person owes the IRS they will come in and take everything, including any new businesses, our homes and vehicles so why should they get by with it and all these businesses that thought they were being good to the environment have to suffer? They arent a big bank that we have to bail out.
As for the concerned mom's comment about the contaminated dirt, I would be scared to death to live and have a family at the housing addition behind the plant in Rogers.
