This means in reality that if a persons house is assessed at $200,000, then he or she can expect to pay $5560 in taxes per year. Not including the fire station tax. lets say that the average worker works 40 hours per week. that is 2080 per year. Which means that $2.67 per your working hour goes towards your homes taxes. So your those of you earning $25.00 per hour. Your now paying only 10% of your yearly income on home property tax.

Does this seem out of control to anyone else
?
Killing us with taxes

How does this feel. If your current home is assessed at $200,000 and your mil is only at 27.5 Then you can expect to pay $5500 per year in taxes. Which boils down to about $2.67 per hour of a 40 hour work week. Now when a person earns $27 per hour almost 10% goes towards Town taxes, 28% towards Federal. another 10% towards state taxes and when you purchase just about anything add another 6%. Which now means that over 50% of your hard earn money is going out in taxes, while living in CT. The person that earns $27 per hour is really only taking home $12.42 per hour.$56,000 is what the average annual household income in Connecticut is currectly.
So when taxes increase to help the the town it's gonna impact even more people and foreclose more homes and increase the burden on more families.

Better Yet Connecticut?

Does the mean help justify the end. Obviously the people who voted for the budget are the people who will be getting paid from the budget.
