How was Dibella involved in this Scam?
The deregulation of Electricity was promoted and lobbyied by Enron. The same Enron involved with CRRA.
Who did Enron Pay in Ct for their services? It was State Senator Tom Ritter who sponsored the Deregulation of elctricity. In the Courant on May 15, 1997, a story explained how the Senator and his Daddy, former member of the Gen Assbly, State Representative
George Ritter had investments in the deal to deregulate electricity that has brought us the highest electric rates in the country, and brought them untold profits. The Atty Gen
should use the RICO law and sue all the principals who were involved in this scheme to Deregulate. The landfall profits are so high, no politician has the cojones to even talk about it. Since Sen Gaffey works for the CRRA, what was his role in the deregulation of Electricity?

The big winner in this fiasco is AG Dick Blumenthal's former partner David Golub. The towns essentially sued themselves. CRRA is a quasi-public agency. The board is comprised of elected officials of member towns and cities. It is not a private for profit corporation. It is funded primarily by tipping fees paid by the member towns. Where do you think that $27.4M PLUS the $8M in lawyers' fees is going to come from? Educate yourselves here:
http://www.crra.org/documents/public_records/...
Rowland's cronies were flushed out and the new management team has worked with the AG to recover $150M of the $220M of the Enron loan. If the member towns are unhappy with the Authority, then they should work to dismantle it and assume responsibility for their own solid waste disposal.
Suzzie, before you ask Dick B to look into electric deregulation, read this:
http://www.ct.gov/ag/cwp/view.asp...
(I am not a current or former employee of CRRA nor do I live in a member town.)

Bag - not all the management @ CRRA is new. BTW the Ops Director just left, Gaff is still there and they still have in place one of the prettiest bonus and retirements plans ever created.

You're all missing the point. CRRA never would have had that 220 million to give to Enron if their tipping fees weren' too high to begin with.

RISING STAR and everyone else should know that the "prettiest bonus and retirement plans ever created" were basically eliminated by Public Act 02-46, which restructured CRRA following the Enron bankruptcy. Section 22a-268b of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that any bonus plan must be approved by the CRRA Board of Directors, which is comprised mainly of mayors and first selectmen from CRRA towns.
