See in the paper that blessed assurance is hiring.. i wouldnt recommend anyone work there or let someone they love attend that place. Debbie stroble is an ugly human being and so are her employees. i considered sending my disable daughter there a few years back and when i seen the way they handle there "individuals" i thought heck no. I have heard they dont switch gloves when taking them to the bathroom and they are man handle the aggresive individuals.. jus to let everyone kno.. jus an FYI

i worked there too. they fired me, said i had bad attendance (had only missed once bc i had went 1day to the doctor bc i was pregnant) they said i had a bad attitude which in fact i did not.. they made stuff up to cover their butt.. but as this topic proves-karma...looks like im not the only person who feels like this business is wack... I miss the individuals and a FEW of the workers. god bless each of them

If you all have so strong of concerns about this health care business, why don't you call the state officials in charge of licensing and let them check it out? Then if the company is found out of compliance, they will be held accoutable. It does noone any good at all to come on here and talk about bad services or experiences about hospitals or health care providers without going the extra step and having your concerns checked out by the appropriate agencies.
By the way, KY is an at will employment state. You can be let go(fired) for no reason at all anytime. Also you can quit at anytime for any reason.

I know one of the girls who works there and I will tell you right now I would NEVER allow her to take care of any family member of mine!! She is one of the biggest liars I know.

Blessed Assurance was rated 100% by the the state. In fact the state is recomending they be a role model for other similar business. They have excellent health inspections scores. They have a long waiting list of people wanting to be placed at our program. Don't take my word for it...check it out yourself. They staff thier business with the best of the best! Seems like most of the negative comments above are from ex-employees..reading their comments will give you a good idea why they weren't employeed past their probationary period.
jus sayin

maybe so, but i can tell you that is not the case. Debbie is a sneaky, greedy woman. She is not for the best interest of all the individuals. And if you really think about it.. how would they feel about someone (a new employee) coming and and doing their job because they really do care.. It isn't going to go over good, so there is no wonder they didnt make it past probation periods. Granted the program is A LOT better for some of the situations the individuals would be in otherwise, BUT this business could be more genuine instead of money hungry

You are entitled to your own opinion. I just wanted to say that I think Debbie is an excellent employer. On the subject of employment past the probationary period, each new hire employee is evaluated by ALL veteran employees.Their evaluations determine if the are hired as permanent staff or not. I definately do NOT think she is money hungry. She is a very generous employer (and person) bonus are given to all staff (profit sharing). She never misses giving each employee a birthday card (with cash gift).I have seen her on numerous occasions buy clothing for the clients, pay for attorneys for clients, pay for their doctor visits, and etc.out of her own pocket. Like I said earlier everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just wanted to voice my opinion.

I am glad that this program has had excellent scores from the stat inspectors. It takes a lot to be compliant. Complaints from ex-eemployees, although some may be valid, usually do not hold a lot of weight because it is hard to decipher the ones that come out of valid concerns versus disgruntled ex-employees that just couldn't cut it.

while i worked there, one of the "veterans" that was training me told me to wear the same gloves while doing bathroom breaks because it would take too many gloves to change for each person. I also witnessed some of these same "veterans" diliberately do unnecassary things that resulted in physical altercations with some of the more severe individuals, just to have a power kick. These people were so poorly educated and thrived off being in charge. I would NEVER send my loved one to them. As far as Debbie, she is the type of person that will always win, because she is a ruthless bitch with money to back her.. so, why would anyone try to stand up to that. Its best to just move on. Unfortunate for the people trapped there. Also, just because you don't smoke cigarettes, doesn't mean you don't deserve a break.

Mike Thurman didn't last a month at BACS. He's gone and we continue to be the best in the business.

Can anyone tell me what the starting pay is out there? I have had my CNA certification for 8 years and would like to put in an application out there but I'm just wondering if the drive would be worth the drive since I'm close to Ft.Knox. I have worked at a couple of nursing homes and have heard nothing but good things about this place but need it to be an ok paying place to consider it.
