I agree! I'm glad there is more competition in this town to lower prices for the consumers! If you are a company trying to sell the same product for more, then you deserve to be put out of business. If two stores are selling the exact same product, why would I want to buy it at a place that sold it for twice the price? So yes, progression is great and it keeps this town affordable.

Hopefully they will beat out Corvins. Their stuff is over priced because they pretty much have most business here and e-town.

I say bring it on. More competition just makes you have to work harder to be the best or willing to drop your prices. he he!

It is great when small companies like Corvin have competition and actually has to lower their prices. So the argument goes we do not want big chains in here so little stores and rape people on their prices. That is a great argument. What you can do is once Corvin's prices go down, you go back over to them and pay more for the same stuff. Then you helped out the little guy. Problem solved.

Right, if this town was only made up of the small stores and no Wal-Mart, Kroger, Lowes, etc. we would just be forced to pay higher prices at the small merchants or spend money in another city's economy. Look at the shops downtown. They have refused to correct their pricing structure and have lost out on a lot of business. The local merchants doom themselves to failure by failing to meet the consumer's needs. I shop at the place that offers the best value for my family. Not necessarily the cheapest place, but if the product is exactly the same, I'm going to buy it from the most affordable merchant. Competition in the marketplace is extremely healthy.

There is a big difference in the quailty of their goods. I will be glad to pay more for something that looks the same and is made in America rather then junk made in China or Mexico.(Did you notice I typed all this in english too?)

This is a myth. Furniture Liquidators sells the same brands that you will find in a Corvins. The difference is that they sell it cheaper. Do you think there's a Mr. Corvin in the back carving out the furniture from solid wood? Most furniture is now made in China because it costs less to produce, thus the savings are passed on to the consumer or the business doing the selling. That's the difference. Does made in America make it better? Most of my electronics come from oversees and the quality is excellent.

It's this myth that keeps people buying Dean's milk when they go to Wal Mart instead of Great Valu. I'll let you in on a secret; both of these brands are exactly the same. The same Dean's milk man picks both brands up from the Dean's milk store and delivers them all at the same time. Dean's is over $4, Great Value is less than $2.

I agree that corvins has a lot of China made junk. I was refering to R&S oak furniture when I said USA made. Places like that.

well, here's one thing u need to consider, Corvin's has a person to repair furniture if it breaks, that will come to your house and fix it, LET'S see what happens when something from Fur. Liq breaks, you'll never get anything fixed from them unless you take it back to them, and you'll have to wait 3 months to get a replacement.

I bought flooring two years ago and they did not lay the Vinyl right and it started bubbling underneath and I found out they did not glue it down. I am stuck with it for now, but will do Laminate and my husband can put that down. Bought a recliner chair and the leather has already split on it. Want to support the local guys, sometimes it is not easy and get quality.
