Flowers would never unionize.. look what happened to IBC.. Unions are the way of the past and kill companies.
Unions may not be perfect but they hold companies to higher standards for the workers. Yes, some of them have gone overboard but without them we would all still be working for pennies and no benefits. Unions aren't dying, they are reviving. Corporate greed is what kills companies, not unions.

if you read the wall street journal you would know that it wasn't the union that caused the problem but mismanagement at the corporate level. Hostess tried to blame the union to call attention to it instead of the real problem - management.

Its time for Kentuckians to wake up,demand better wages, a living wage. Our country is suffering because politicians and corporations are in each others pockets.Don't let them full you.We don't want to be like Wisconsin. Let's keep our unions.

I agree! Politicians have let these companies come in because they thought we would work for dirt cheap and never question it. It's time Kentucky workers stood up for their rights and demand better wages and benefits which is more likely through unions.

C'mon Steelecity, when are you union hacks gonna give it a rest!?!? Unions are outdated, bloated, do nothing entities! Why is it that about every 30 to 45 days, there's someone on here starting a 'what's it like at Flowers' thread on here?? When are you gonna stop with the union crap?? Ask the fine people at Hostess how much the union did for them!! They demanded more than the company could give and that's what forced the shutdown and bankruptcy. Flowers isn't for everyone. It's demanding. It's a high speed manufacturing facility and they make fresh bread for peoples holiday events which means they work a lot of holidays. Bread has a shelf-life and has to be produced daily!! If you are not up for WORK, then go find employment at some auto parts manufacturing plant! You don't have a right to work at Flowers!

Right around 37000 to 40000 a year. The insurance was unbelievable. It was 43 a week but that was myself, wife, and 3 kids. Major medical was awesome. We also had a pension. I was getting ready to go to 4 weeks vacation.

AFS top pay pressman in Bardstown is $24.90. We have great health insurance, vacation, holidays, and to top it off. "A vote on what we have". Corporations is for their selves, not for workers. A bunch of Flower's employees have come to AFS when they hired the last 60 new hires.

The pay is great at first for independent distributors then they continue to lower your wages as you increase your sales. Bluefield was shut down for a reason they were union and the company made sure they didn't exist. Stay far far away from flowers they are corrupt and will lie to you.

Based on the fact you can't spell employee correctly, you probably weren't a star pupil. Put out hard work, get rewarded. If you are a slacker, you get what you deserve.
