Hardin memorial is very nice!you'll defiantly feel comfortable that your child is takin care of while being there!
Dawn Hill isnt a RN nurse, she's a certified nursing assistant.

For a normal labor and delivery, Flaget is great. The nurses were awesome, and I thought it was cleaner than Hardin, quieter, and the rooms were much nicer. I did not appreciate having two other screaming women in the "pre-labor and delivery" room with me at Hardin, and that hasn't ever happened at Flaget. The head nurse who checked my dilation at Hardin hurt me worse than having the baby did. I have never had a pelvic exam hurt that badly. Holy cow.

I wouldn't go to Flaget or Hardin if you are having pre-term labor or complications. You have to pass out in the ER at Hardin to get any attention, and Flaget isn't equipped for high risk situations. Go to Louisville for that.

Dawn Hill is an RN--she no longer works for Flaget. The nurses at the Birth Center at Flaget are skilled and go to continued education classes at St Joe East and Baptist East. The reason babies and sometimes mommas are transferred to Louisville is because they are a SMALL unit (only 11 staff members)and dont have the staff, room or equipment to handle an extremely early infant. Plus the neonatologist in Louisville are trained specifically to handle these cases.

I had my last baby at flaget just a few months ago and I loved them! Brooke was there for almost my entire stay and she stayed over to be there for my delivery (she even had to call her mom to go stay with her kids cause her hubby had to go to work)! She even took our oldest to get snacks/drinks so she could get some special attention! They are super at Flaget!

Good luck with your pregnancy and enjoy this awesome time!

Go to Flaget!! You will get more one on one care and your baby will be spoiled! More than once I went out walking in the hall and the nurses, especially the ones on nightshift, were holding and rocking my baby! They even play music in the nursery for them! Vicky, Katie and Brook were the best! They even came to work one night wearing the same color! The baby hats they make and the door signs make it even more special, its these little touches that will make your stay wonderful.

I had my son there, the hospital hadn't been open long. He was the fifth baby born there. I had no problems with the staff. I had issues with my delivery, after I went home.

It isn't a bad hospital as long as you don't have Dr. Dodge as your doc!

WOW! If you were trying to make a point just now, you failed. For one, you are on topix- A GOSSIP FORUM. People are going to put their opinions. You have no right to call someone a bitch for that. I think that Dr. Dodge has more important things to worry about than someone recommending not using him. I don't know him, but ALL i have heard is negative... This isn't new... This has been going on for years. It's part of any business/industry. You will be judged by the service you provide. I find it highly unlikely that a ban of lying mothers decided to rally and create a cult to devastate Dr. Dodges career for no reason. I'd say word of mouth from enough "complications"/poor experiences generated from him cooking his own goose. I have no opinion about the doctor because I have no first hand experience good or bad. HOWEVER, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you got food poison from taco bell, I bet you wouldn't hold back on warning people from eating there... same thing.

Actually It is true that a SMALL handful of mothers have been rally together to TRY to give Dr Dodge a bad name. Like each one of these SMALL handful of person have said they don't like Dr Dodge personally and want him to fail. Sounds to me like some have too much time on hand if you do not want to go to himDO NOT GO !! find another doctor one that makes you happy ! As for me and 98 percent of his other patient that have continued to stay with Dr Dodge we will continue to stay where we are happy at ' in his care ' if you do not like Dr Dodge , good for you , I as well as his other patient have ALWAYS and will ALWAYS support him in everything that he does bc he has been an AWESOME Dr to my daughter and myself along with his other momma

You must not be from bardstown because if you were, you would replace the SMALL/HANDFUL/FEW with LARGE/HANDFULS/MAJORITY. This isn't an issue of a few women complaining. It's a large scale of his patients complaining. Ask anyone. Yes, I'm sure you will have some people who are loyal patients of the doctor, however, I think anyone from this town knows several people who will happily describe their poor experience. So, to refer to the point made above, it's a business- if you suck then your business will plummit. If you provide poor service it IS the publics right to spread their experience by word of mouth. So, by all means, continue to utilize your right by saying you haven't had poor experiences and that you have always enjoyed Dr. Dodge. But don't act like someone else is in the wrong for doing the same thing- just not in your favor.

Listen here Ashley! I know first hand how horrible of a doctor he is. I would never go back to dodge if my life depended on it. Almost 6 years ago he was my doctor. And you know where that got me? I did not get to come home with my baby because of him. That's right I had to instead bury him! All because of your precious Dr. Dodge. So I think I have the right to bad mouth him if I want too. I may be a bitch but I am telling the truth about him. He did a half ass job as a doctor. I went in on a Tuesday with my baby just fine. I had been to the office the day before. My baby was moving the whole way there. When I got to the hospital they got me in right away. The nurses were very nice. When they checked for a heart beat they were having terrible finding it. They called Dodge in. He took his sweet time getting there. Well when he got there, finally he told me that my baby was gone. They had just heard the heart beat not 5 mins before that. So what did he do? He let me lay there for 3 days. He should have done an emergency c-section to try and save my baby. But he didn't. He kept trying to induce me over the next 3 days. Nothing happened. When we tried to talk to him he was not around. The nurses told us he would be there shortly and he never showed up. When he did show up he would barely answer my questions and he was always short with me. Come to find out his dad was dying and he was wanting to be with him. I understand that but he is a doctor and his first priority is his patients. If he could not handle it then why didn't he just let someone else take over or send me to another hospital? Because he did not even act like he cared what had happened to me. Finally my family told him to do a c-section or else. The day his dad died is the day he also finally delivered by beautiful still born baby by a c-section. He did not come back to see me the rest of my stay at the hospital. And he also had the nerve to say it was better off that way because my baby had lost so much oxygen that he would have been handicap in some ways. He had no right to tell me and my family that. My babies cord was in a true knot is the reason he was still born. He did not even tell us the cause of death. The nursed had to explain it all to us. And even when I went for my check up he never said much to me except I can try again in a few months. Also when I did get pregnant again I went to Ackermann and Reynolds in Lebanon. The went over my medical records and were very nice to me. They explained that they would watch me closely to reassure me this time around. When I went in for my example they also informed me that I should have been scheduled for a c-section anyways because I can never have a natural birth. The birthing process would kill me. Dr. Dodge did plenty of exams on me and never once told me that. Cause he did not know. If I would have gave birth to my son like he wanted me too I too could have possibly died. So I have all the right in the world to say what I want about Dr. Dodge. And I do not care what anyone says. He is and always will be a horrible dr in my book and I hope and pray he never gets to deliver babies again. That way what happened to me can't happen to someone else.

Dr dodge has helped my daughter and I in SOO many ways and there is no way that we would ever be able to thank him enough . He was and amazing throughout my pregnancy whenever I got to see him which was only every few monthes. He can not control everything some things are completly out of his hands. I lost a baby once when I was 6 month pregnant (not fullterm or anything) I had plenty of people that I could have blamed, I never blamed anyone I accepted the fact that sometimes these things happen that is the way life goes. Brenda delivered my baby , I always went to her for my checks throughout my pregnancy. I preferd Dr Dodge but the ladies up front of his office always put me with the midwife. There were some complications that I had toward the end of my pregnancy that she should have caught but she never did . I still do not hold a grudge to this day for her
For not noticing and catching my complications sooner. I accepted the fact that she is a human being . She makes mistakes and is not perfect like DrDodge. I wanted Dr Dodge to deliver my daughter but I was young and too much of a pushover when they told me that Brenda needed to deliver her . I remember crying after Brenda broke my water bc he would not be there for me. I love the midwife as a person but I just wanted my Doctor that was my ONLY regret .

I do blame Dr.Dodge for what happened. Like my other doctors said, if he would have done the c-section then their may have been a chance things would have turned out differently. But you can do what you want and I'll do what I want to do. I will never step foot in his office again. Plus if it wasn't for my family insisting on him doing a c-section 3 days later I may not even been here. And that would have been his fault too. Sorry I don't feel the same way about him as you do. But everyone is entitled to there own opinion and this will always be mine.

Agreed. Brooke is a wonderful nurse, and person. I've had 4 babies there and she has been one of my night shift nurses each time. Terrific patient care and wonderful bedside manner.

Love love love!!! Dr. Amy and Dr. Hannah delivered both of my kids here. My daughter in 2012 was 41 weeks and healthy. My son delivered at 39 weeks both of which were c sections. I laughed and talked with them during the entire procedure! Their bedside manner was even amazing. I didn't want to leave
