rumor has it that as of next week the bank will be open, but they are cutting 38 employees to part time and letting 4 more go. start looking for new employment the end is near.
If that's true the bank might save some money, but the service will be so bad everyone will close their accounts anyway. Sounds like people don't have a clue what they are doing.

Bill Conway's son is a great kid that has been raised by great parent's that expect that he will make his own way in life. They have not tried to pave a way to a free ride like so might expect... Bill and Cathy have made sure that he takes care of himsself, so don't ever mislead the general public to believe that his life has been a free ride...give the guy a brake...he's a great kid!!! Bill was a good leader at TCBT so everybody can give that defense a rest as well. This comes from someone that knows...

You did well until your last statement. The younger Conway is a good person and shouldn't have been brought into this conversation. Bill Conway was in over his head and he finally realized it and resigned as chairman - finally made a good decision for a change.

Mr. Conway did not take Jill Hill's job. She was the HR and if anyone will be stepping up, it should be her assistant, Lauren Shewmaker, right?? Getting back to the "bank bashing" though, TCBT is a disgrace to this town. When Murna was there, the employees were treated like gold. Christmas parties, bonuses, employee appreciation, great customer service, booming business! Happy employees equals great attitude and happy customers. It's as simple as that. Now that they've stomped on the internal morale...this place is going down the crapper. Imagine going to work everyday and not knowing if today's your last day or not. I believe that the loan officers should be biting their nails because it is mainly their fault all of this is happening. Raffo Wimsett should be ASHAMED of what he let happen under his nose! The people who were let go WERE his personal friends! Has that cushy office and 150,000 a year job really made you that cold hearted Raffo? I used to think you were a great person but now I think your wife, children, and friends should turn their backs on YOU! Just like you turned your back on this community. Not only do you owe the people who were let go an apology
but you owe the people of this community an apology as well.

Amen! This is a horrible ordeal that has affected many people. It is a direct result of the hard times we are all facing and the declining economy. I blame those who were/are in leading roles within the bank for letting the dishonesty go on for as long as it has. The Leaders of the bank or those who are still enjoying their job and its benefits should be reprimanded! If this bank has even a minute chance of survival, all heads should fear demotion or dismissal. God eventually punishes those who cause pain to others. I hope that the "heads" who are left think about that every Sunday as they walk into church and head to the front pew.

Bill was a good leader? What kind of leader takes a bank with that kind of history and runs it into the ground? I guess you are right, he should be commended for being able to accomplish such a feat. Quite a personal accomplishment.

I know that Raffo did not approve any of the firings. He has no say so in those decisions. The witch that is in charge was doing all of that. The board members that put her in that spot should be the ones ridiculed. Where were you guys, Charles Moore, Gregory Smith, Gilbert Brown, etc. Probably out spending your daddy's money and not worrying about anything else.

LMAO!! Cost savings????? Really???? If you're a shareholder then you know what they are paying the "interim" executives. Find any evidence of savings and I'll buy you a new car at Conway-Heaton. Just goes to show you how good a job the bank has done keeping its stockholders in the dark.

Okay "shareholder".... how long has it been since you've received a dividend check???? Oh yeah, that's right, THERE IS NO MONEY TO GIVE DIVIDENDS ANYMORE! Good job my ass. The service and morale sucks. I've been a customer at that bank for as long as I can remember. I go to the branch across from McDonalds and used to love going in there and seeing all those pretty girls and their huge smiles. They were filled with hospitality and conversation. When the new manager...that little Ice girl (who is unfriendly and unsociable) came in that branch, all those pretty smiling faces were gone! This may be off the subject but wherever those girls went, I hope they are doing much much better at more satisfying careers. They deserve it. Guess I'm going to have to find another bank to move all my business to. No dividend check, no Hello's when I walk in the door, no pretty smiles..... RIP TCBT.

P.S. I know whoever is in charge isn't looking in the places they need to look but maybe they should check out the morons they have running their branches. Who had to screw who to make that happen? My dog could manage better than them.

Oh, I guess you didn't know, he did have a say in the firings. He is one of the BOARD members and he did nothing to save the people who had nothing to do with the bad loans. Mr. Raffo Wimsett was head of the loan dept. so he should have been the first to go. But as always someone else has to pay for their wrong doings.

Wakeup Shareholders!!! Everyone should know waht they are paying the top executives $$$$$$. Make them accountable for their wrongs. Also, WHY would you buy a car from Conway-Heaton when Mr. Bill Conway was the chairman of the board who approved all these bad loans and caused the downfall of the bank. Take your business down the street to Franklin Buick. And go to Lowes instead of Buzicks cause Susan Elmore is also a board member. They want us to shop in Bardstown and take care of the community business and all the while they are making bad deals behind closed doors. Give me a BREAK!!!!

That would be the BOARD members, Mr. Ledford and they still have their jobs. The 5 they let go earned their pay and have been employed for 30 plus years. So you think that you are getting a cost savings from the new people than maybe you have not read page 32 in the shareholders book on how much they are getting paid. You are out to pasture!!!!!

I heard they came up a little short on their capital campaign, around $3-$4 million. Now what? Another round of begging to the same people again for another donation?

A little short? That means they barely sold over half of what they needed. That's pitiful, especially when there is a enough net worth in the board room to probably buy the shares 4 or 5 times over.

Well, I guess there are other banks you can use if they aren't in the same situation. I know First Federal is in a mess.

Take your comments to the opinion section of the Ky. Standard so the community can see what is taking place at the Town & Country Bank. Not sure why the Standard has not investigated this story.

Maybe because Conway-Heaton and Buzick Lumber are HUGE advertisers in the Standard and more importantly PLG-TV, which is also owned by the Standard.
