Nelson County Garbage

I saw two Nelson County Garbage trucks going down Jefferson Street the other day. When I say going down, I mean they were going side by side with one truck covering one side of the street and the second truck doing the other side. Not only were they blocking traffic, but how much money was wasted on having two crews work one street?

You didnt see 2 garbage trucks in the street. Those werent the trucks your looking for. No money involved. You can go about your business. Move along.

very dangerous, you need to report that to dean watts, or nelson county landfill, our bills are high enough with some one causing a accident and yhen our bills will go up to help pay for new trucks

i have also seen the worker cross the road to pick up trash. This is VERY DANGEROUS for them and on coming traffic.Last year one of their workers did this and got hit by car. That should NOT be allowed for safety reasons

Well lets just say that you make arrangements to take your own garbage to the landfield each week and it needs to be there during rain, snow, freezing and the hot of summer or on your holidays and i want no excuses,Well now you might just think how lucky we are to have someone do that for us while we go back in our cozy houses and they work in crappy weather. So what if they have figured out a way to get the job done a little faster it really didnt hurt you any.

Well its a good service and people dont appreciate the guys that do this everyday, they work hard and i agree its not the most glamous job but it does support a lot of families.Dean needs to get on one of those trucks and give it a try.

Why don't you try thanking them for their time spent picking up other people's garbage? Leave them a soft drink or a snack. They are just trying to make a living like everyone else. Get off topix with this "trash"talk!!

Picking up trash isn't rocket science. You don't need to have two trucks doing the job of one.

Pretty sure those garbage men aren't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. I bet they are even getting over paid to pick cans up (especially if they are lazy as the first example showed). I don't give snacks to my doctor after I see him, why would I take a pudding pop out to the trashman (and that is gross by the way)? I wonder how many are felons?

I have no problem with the garbage men, they take all the crap I want to get rid of away for me. Yes they get paid to that job. But it is a convenience for them to take everybody's garbage away, not a God given right after all. It is a service that we pay for like anything else, I appreciate it myself. Here I am being the rational one in a thread full of Richards, WTH?

You are right they work there b-tt's off.I wish they would get a nice raise. It would not bother me in the least to pay an extra $1.00 on my garbage bill if it went to there PAY check.I can only say those guy's have a rough job and never complain. All i can say is i would like to strap some of these people in this town to the back of the garbage truck on a day like today and watch them go.Thank you to all of you that pick up trash.

Why would it matter to you if they were a felon they are doing there job and i am sure they don't work for free. How many people work free now day's? Not me that is forsure. And if they are felons and get a chance to start over then i am proud of whom ever hired them!I do think people change and turn there life around.

Didn't your mommas teach you that if you didn't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
