There is a consignment shop in Bardstown Ky I know for a fact is stealing from its folks that are bringing there belongings in..my friend who brought in a load of nice things alot of high dollar clothing and collected a big 16.43 for everything,I know SHES stealing, and everyone in B-town should know it..is there someone out there that can look over this I dont take my belongings there but have found it to be a shame that you can steal from elderly people who only want to make a little money..I told my friend you should have donated this to the Goodwill...you could of come out better on your taxes then lined this womans pockets..(oh her own employees tells people..she will NOT pay out on her tickets if it is over a certain amount because she simplie can not afford to do so)To me it is not all her money it is money that belongs to the people..

I sent several things to Gabby's and got $5. They won't send out a check if your part is under $5. I really don't like that.

I had some designer clothes and was told the consignment shops here and town were not taking them. I was going to take them to Goodwill, but decided to just throw them in the garbage. I had bought them at Margaret's in Louisville very cheap and felt I had gotten my money's worth. The best Consignment for furniture and home items is JT's.

It is the one over by the cinimas,I know what happen to my friend it upset me so I thought this should be posted here to let all you folks that take your belongings there not to....I know my friend had at least at a low amount 500 to 600.00
worth of clothes and shoes...she should have walk away with at least 200.00 to 350.00 so WTF? It bothers me when another person takes advantage of people in this day in age...as bad of shape as some people are at times a few dollars mite lie between you and not eating so why is this ok when you want to bring your clothes nic nacs...shoes what ever to sell and someone does this to you??

I am not condoning any store or persons actions, but think here a minute. The economy is still tanked. For people who can still afford high dollar designer clothes, they are not shopping consignment stores. Never have - they don't need to.
People struggling to make ends meet don't need designer clothes. They need things that will last and can wash, not something they have to dry clean.
Look at how the prices have fallen for new items. That means a corresponding drop in used as well.

The store you are mentioning is called WearHouse Consignments and I agree with you. I have given them BAGS of clothes and got nothing. Yet I have never seen the clothing there after a few days so I assume it sold. The owner is not a pleasant person...

so how do people like this get stopped I heard she was going out of business..and yes THOUGHTS is correct in their response..the economy has tanked and people are looking for that great buy for their children..for what ever but when they want a little extra cash they dont expect to be ripped off in such away from a greedy preson who is not hurting for nothing...karma is a bit**

I bought mine at a special sale at Margarets so I only had less than five dollars in each piece. Most were Talbott and sag harbor and I bought them for Real Estate Sales. I found that the office I worked out of was a casual office and I did not need the clothes.

alot of the consignment shops here after having something for so long they donate to good will or st. vincent. Most likely they are taking their own picks first.

I hate to hear this about Warehouse, Thought it was a nice place and the lady has always been nice to me. I love JT's They always have something I need everytime I go in there, I am getting ready to develop a Lake property and I am sure I will be using JT's to furnish and decorate the property,

where is JT's? Gabby's is a nice place as well. You can do well when they have their sales. She seems pretty honest. WearHouse- NO...

JT's is down town on 3rd st. It used to be owned by the same lady at the Wearhouse but she sold it. It has improved greatly since she sold it. They have really good stuff in there. They even have alot of NEW Hollister and American eagle stuff. Plus they are much friendlier than the lady at wearhouse. Shes just rude!
