There are 3 Veterianarian in Bardstown, Central Kentucky, Bardstown Animal, and Bardstown Vet. Which Vet do you know is the Best. I am not satisfy with Bardstown Animal Clinic since Dr. Taylor told me that he didn't know what causing my cat to have hair loss around the neck and scratches and sores around there. He gave me some cream to fight the infection and inflamation shot which is really just preventing the infection, not solving the problem. He just look at the cat without checking different parts of his body. What king of a Vet would say "I don't know" without at least trying to do some test on the skin.

Special Pets treated my dog when he drank antifreeze when no one else in town would. She also took the cost in consideration and let me know my options moneywise. I also have issues with Cental ky. I took my dog in three times before he got diagnosed correctly and the lady vet is not nice at all .

Special Pets. It's where I've taken all my pets for whatever purpose and they've never steered us wrong.

Personally, I have always utilized Dr. Taylor and his staff, and they have always been there for us each & every time our animals needed help, no matter how big or small a problem. I can't say for sure WHY he would tell you what he did about your kitty, CAT, but I do know, being a cat owner myself...if a cat is going to get fleas, 90% of the time the little buggers frequent the neck/head area. There is also the possibility of ear mites. I took my cat to him once because of excessive scratching around the left ear, and was given 'Frontline" or some such, even though he DID check Sammy's ears,etc...well, my cat turned out to be allergic to that and lost a big patch of hair on her neck, etc. I mentioned this to my aunt, a cat lover (ok...she 'hoards' cats...she must have 15..lol)-she told me about the mites. Check your kitty's ears and see if there is a lot of really nasty brownish/black "crud" way down inside them...you'll have to wet a Q-Tip and GENTLY wipe out the cat's ears. If you see a lot of that, that's ear mites.Sometimes it's just in one ear, sometimes both. It can be taken care of really well with drops purchased either from the vet or a really reputable pet supply dealer. We used "Happy Jack" from 'Southern States', but since they're no longer in business here, perhaps you could ask around...maybe "Feeder's Supply" or even "Tractor Supply" would be able to help you out?! All I ask you is PLEASE do not use any of that fly-by-night pet crap like "Hartz" or Seargeants" from Walmart or the dollar stores....my cousin put that flea stuff on her little Morkie's neck, caused the hair to fall out, the skin looked like someone took a match to it,etc. Got into the bloodstream and killed the little fella.(Walmart sells products called "Adam's" as do a couple of vet's offices...you might check and see if they have something for the mites?!)
Good luck and let us know how things work out, OK?:)

The pet that I mentioned above that had cancer had been scratching at his neck and ripping out his fur. He was a cat... Like I said, it is very much worth checking out Heartland Veterinary Hospital. They are extremely thorough!!!

Has anybody used Bardstown Vet Clinic on 3rd Street? It sounds like on their website they have a lot of new stuff like laser treatment. Also, my cat could have allergies, since it is worst outdoors than indoors. Any Vet around locally that can treat allergies with confidence?

I have used the one on 3rd Street. I like her better than Dr Taylor. But Im not much impressed with either. But I moved in from another state and my Vet there was wonderful. So I have different expectations.

Central Ky will charge you a fee for the vet to look at your pet and another different fee just for brining your pet into the office - what a ripoff

I didnt like Dr. Taylor. I liked Dr Lackey but she left. I liked Dr Hubbard at Central Ky. The Dr at the one on 3rd street is ok, but I like Dr Hubbard better.

There are 4 clinics in Bardstown and they are all good but SpecialPets is the best. Dr Perkins calls my pets my children and she really cares. She cried when my cat was dying from cancer and he had to be euthanized. She now does acupuncture and laser therapy. Dr Fitzparick treated my dog with addisins disease and taught me how to keep her stable and to give fluids to her myself when no one else in town could figure out her problem. They are best vets.

My family has always used Bardstown Animal Clinic. I LOVE Dr. Taylor. We've used two others in town. One told us our dog wasn't pregnant by Xray. She had 8 puppies three weeks later. The other charged us off the hook. I wouldn't go anywhere but Bardstown Animal Clinic! They ARE the best by far.

Dr Perkins at spec pets is Avery special vet. Not only is she eminently knowledgeable in her field, she is top dog in "bedside manner." She's put down my old dog and a couple cats. She came into the office at1:00 am to meet us and relieve my poor baby of her pain and suffering. She's the bees knees.
Personally, I don't savvy to dr dukes who also works at special pets.
But DrPerkins.... A1A!!!

I would not go anywhere but Bardstown Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Seibert is the best. She totally cares for your pets. She has come to my home when my dog was sick, has come out to my vehicle and worked on my pet. When our beloved dog had cancer and was dying, she was very compassionate and sympathetic, explaining the entire process to my children and allowing them to be with him before, during and after euthanizing him. She cried with us and helped us with the healing. I love her and would never take my pets anywhere else. My dog loves her and actually enjoys and gets excited to go to her office. She is the best, hands down!

Dr. Taylor & staff @ BAC..definitely!!! I've been with them since 1988, and they've always been wonderful to me! I used to have 2 Dobermans, both developed a lot of tumors as they grew older, and when it got to be "expensive",($200/$4 00/per dog/per surgery), he helped me grasp the fact that it would be better to put them down than spend out unnecessary money that I really couldn't afford...a hard fact, but a TRUE one. I had a red-point Siamese cat that suddenly "went down" (one of the Dobie's alerted us to him-he had severe Lymphoma that suddenly paralyzed him..) We called BAC, and at the time, Dr. Ross & Dr. Corsiglia there both came to the office and stayed w/ Sam ALL NIGHT, until they figured out what was going on w/ him...he had to be put down next morning (he was 13 yrs old). Just a few months ago, my Aussie Cattle/Terrier mix, Sheldon, came down w/ Parvo (even tho he'd been vaccinated) and Dr.Stewart gave him such great care! I'm going through a hard time financially, and they worked with me on his vet bill and showed me what to do to help him to alleviate the cost. I would have had to leave him there (which would cost more) but I chose to do the IV's myself...they gave me a nice discount and I'm happy to say that my puppy will live to see his 1st b-day on Christmas Day!!! AND...AND??! The ONE FANTASTIC THING that came from knowing Dr. Taylor and Staff??! Several yrs. ago, I lost a little Pomeranian...my Mom had just been diagnosed w/ terminal cancer, she wanted me to have another dog...Dr. Taylor let me put up a note on their front desk-he'd put in a "good word" for me?!....2 days later, I was the proud owner of one "Buster Brown" (a/k/a "Butters")-a little brown terrier that is now 8 yrs old, and THE BEST little dog in the WORLD! I LOVE HIM!!! Mom never really got to know him, as she was "slipping" by that time, but I know she's happy that I got little Butters!
