My friend went hunting on his land. His buddy was with him and was using his gun.
he did not realize that his friend and himself needed tags on his property. He lost he meat and his guns and is subject to a fine. He is from Maryland where the laws are different can any one help him?

Hunting is taken seriously here in Kentucky. Good luck resolving it and getting your things back!

Anybody know of a good place that is already available or is coming up for rent? Everything that I have looked at is either falling down or way to high priced for what it is. Wanting a 2-3 bedroom with some land. Pay somewhere around $500 but can go higher for a good place.

Hey man wake up Youíre living in the peoples republic of the USA ,the game warden is GOD and you canít do anything on your own property without out the supreme powers consent. How dare you think that you could hunt on your own property. Geeze man get with it, this ainít your country no more.

Since he lives in Maryland.yes,he needed tags.So did the friend.The fine will probably stick(hey,who knows what a judge or jury will do).The meat is as good as gone.The gun may be given back to him by the courts,but,if not,the department of fish and wildlife will auction it off the first Monday in May at the game farm in Frankfort.Every year,first Monday in May,rain or shine,they auction off confiscated stuff and stuff of theirs they are replacing.You do NOT have to have an ffl to buy guns at the auction if you live in Ky. or a state that borders Ky,but,the same paperwork and background check is done that would be done if you bought a gun at walmart.However,since your friend is a resident of Maryland,he will probably need the ffl to purchase a firearem here.Call batf and they can send him what he needs for the ffl.I think that license runs about120,but Im not 100% sure.I have been told there is another auction in Oct.,but I dont know about that.Good luck with the gestapo.

Ignorance is no excuse. You would have to be living in a cave or have the IQ of a dead carp to not even think to check the local fish and game laws. He got what he deserved.

Thanks for the tip on the auction. deer slayer. ignorance of the law is know excuse but he truly did not realize. He was under the assumption land owners wrote there own tags. Any body got an idea of the amount of the fines would be or if there is possible jail time? It was 1 deer to him and 1 deer his friend took. How is a good Lawyer for this sort of thing?

The law states that if you are the ground owner then you have the right to hunt as a land owner with no tags but you can not hunt out of season enless it was due to crop damage. but if he was renting the land, or lessing the land then he has really no choice then to go to the court date and ple his case but there some addvise that may help good luck

pay the damned fine and shut the *&^% up

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
