How many people want to take a bet that Bardstown will go to school tomorrow? I always tell my kids if jefferson Co goes then so will they. Anybody take that bet?

I wonder if they will call it off for tomorrow and let us know tonight i need to somehow get my kids to my mothers and don't want to wait until in the morning. My husband is a better driver than me and he doesn't mind driving in this crap.

STAFF REPORT

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2011, 8 p.m.— The Nelson County School District has canceled school for Thursday, Feb. 9 due to Wednesday’s snowfall. Many county roads — especially untreated roadways — are currently slick and hazardous. Subfreezing temperatures overnight will cause some roadways, bridges and overpasses to ice over.

Schools that follow the county school system calendar — including Bethlehem High School — will also be out for another snow day.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Bardstown police are responding to numerous non-injury accidents that are a result of snow-slickened roadways.

The county is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 a.m. Thursday. The low temperature Wednesday night is 10, with a predicted high Thursday of 26 degrees. Warmer temperatures are expected by the weekend, with a high of 42 on Saturday and 52 on Sunday

Me either I have to drive my baby to school because his driver told me that on days Nelson co doesn't go she won't come back my road. That's crap.We just moved here and that's what i thought I was paying for. But guess not.

I drive my yunger sister and I to school and we live on some back roads. On the way home I skidded off the road into a ditch after hitting a patch of black ice. I honistly dont want to drive to school in all this. I'll be the first to admit Im not an experienced enough driver. I'd rather stay home and take an absent then take a chance to go to school and wreck.

If I were you I would call the bus garage there if your in Bardstown or Nelson Co they will find a bus to bring you to school. If not I would call the board of education find out if you live in county why a bus won't come back there or if your parents are paying tuition why a bus won't come for you from Bardstown. That is their job.

from what i understand because her adress is out side of bardetown city school district and not by far! u can see where it ends (not like a sign or anything) from her house they wont even let them go up the road and wait where the bus turns around. and the county buses wont pick them up either. also just because they are bus drivers doesnot mean they are the best drivers, and even the best bus driver on her road could get in a wreck.

Ok lost me. No one said the bus drivers were perfect. I was trying to help the student find an easier way to school. The bus drivers credentials weren't even in question. I would still call the school boards.

They didn't say what the situation was. Nelson won't pick them because they consider them Bardstown or what. But I know if they were Bardstown students Bardstown would let them go up to the place where the bus turns around. Bardstown goes up and beyond the call when it comes to their students. They bend over backwards, I didn't see just wondering say anything about the bus drivers but I would rather my child be on a bus than trying to drive on it. Yes accidents happen but Bardstown has a great staff.
