Democracy In-Action? Less than 6% of registered voters cast Yes ballots for the $66m Nyack Schools' budget. Schools account for 65% of the village property owners' tax bill.

this is understandable - the taxes in nyack are way too exhorbitant to begin with - the district may just have to cut some of their precious sports programs -

I think taxes are too low in Nyack. Most Nyack teachers only get paid in the low $100,000+/year -which comes out to ONLY $100/hour with job security. The average household income in the area is $70,000. If we all just pay twice as much in property taxes, teachers can make $200,000. But we have to wait 10 years for our taxes to double. I wish it were sooner. WE LOVE PAYING TAXES ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US ON A FIXED INCOME.
