The good people of TruSeal, nor the union have anything to do with the plant closing. Fact is some time ago Truseal was sold to a company that resently also bought another company in Ohio that manufactors a similar product. The Barbourville facility is approx. 180,000sq/ft. and currently operating at full compacity(no room for expansion) the company in Ohio's facility is approx. 500,000 sq/ft. with roughly 200,000sq/ft. of unused/available space. Closing the Ohio facility was consider but of course makes no sense. Moving it to Kent. would require purchasing more land and building more facilities. No person with any values likes to hear of anyone losing their job, but the only thing at fault in this situation is "Good Business Sense".

You need to change the truth to bullshit..........The company is moving for one reason and one reason only.........to break the hold of the local union on thier operation.. all this other bullshit is to cover thier ass with the national labor relations board. It is illegal for a company to move its operation strictly on that account........we may not be as smart as you jim tressel shysters or joe paterno conference dipsticks....but we are not outright sitting here to listen to bullshit from the likes of you people

They may dwarf Edgetech's sales overseas but I'd say picking up Edgetech's sales didn't hurt them any. Their move to Ohio was the smart move and it did cure a lot of problems for them. "MAINLY NO UNION MEANS BIGGER PROFITS"

which union did daniel boone belong to, etc, etc, etc. the county ranks in the bottom of all rankings that show quality of life..in the state. It does rank high in those things which pertain to .( wink) The unions haven't built shit and never will,, they simply take and run. Breaking news....you will be working for a few dollars a day.....if anyone will hire an x truseal union worker... which would be stupid on their part.
where do you find data on quality of life ratings.

I wonder how much of the 107 million cash Quanex paid for Edgetech was really just to get rid of Truseal employees and the union?

You need to change your user name to (made anywhere but america.) Unions are doing a good job of forcing american companies overseas in search of cheaper wages for production and bigger profits for their stockholders. The rich get richer and the average american worker is learning where the foodstamp line begins.
