JAILTRACKER SITE DOWN INDEFINITELY
MONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2011 - 9:46 A.M.- According to a Jailtracker spokesman, the Knox County Jailtracker website is not down because of technical issues."The site was taken down at the request of the Knox County Jail," said Sean Wilkerson, director of support services for the Glasgow, Kentucky-based Jailtracker. Wilkerson said he did not know a reason why the request was made.According to the Jailtracker current jails list, sites for detention centers in Bell, Whitley, Laurel and Clay counties are still active and accessible. For more information on this story, check out future posts and this week's

I'm concerned about the site Those people that draw an ssi check and r arrested for drugs and alcohol are reported and the checks r cut off DUH!!and u get to see all the dead beats and murders. and ho and thieves and endanger the child. That socal services should have in custody. all u have to do is go to Kentucky Court Docket on line and evryone that is arrested has a court date. Are they going to shut it down to?

I am concerned about the publics right to know being shut down because one person decides we no longer have a right to know. We elected her and what right does she have to shut down the service? I think it is clearly to protect the school system and an arrest recently made but if the average joe is arrested the service stayed u.

Well I guess we will have to pay more attention when the Jailer comes up for re-election! Its nice to have so you can check out who the criminals are in your neighborhood for one thing so we can be on the lookout for the crooks.

well i always assumed that in order to be in any office.of gov or other wise you had to be voted in by the public.in her case all she had to do was be married to the jailer that passed away. how does that work? maybe the people of knox county needs to call out congressman and start asking questions

I'm not sure how that worked out.

I'm aware that the vacancy had to be filled, but what in the world compelled the powers that be to choose his wife as a stand in?

What does jailtracker have to do with the school system ? Was a teacher or administrator arrested ?

OMGoodness!! What is your little azz doing on here? Yayuhh-huhhmm thought so. It has the sniffles also.

As for the rest of you, Mrs Hammons was elected by the public. She was on the ballot. Anytime a candidate dies while on the ballot after the primary election their spouse, son or nearest of kin can take their place, they dont automatically go in without the publics vote. Remember when the Hamilton guy that was running for magistrate passed away and his son replaced him , I think the Mayor of Hazards Wife took his place. Anyway they must win the election as everyone else does with votes. I think a lot of you are getting this all wrong. Just because you want to check out the jailtracker doesnt mean you are nosey, its nice to have so you can see if someone is making meth in your neighborhood or those who are stealing, etc. It has nothing to do with gossiping. Who knows maybe its because so many of you are paying a $1.00 for the whos jailed when you were getting it for free online. Ever think that could be the problem?

it is public records and the public has the right to know who is in jail. most like because they have challis davis and Donna davis working for them and don't want people to see they have them in jail........they will walk away free after they rat out enough poeple.i do not like any drug dealer no matter how big or how small. they are dealers and part of the pipeline and should not be set free because they rat.

Jean Carnahan became a US Senator from Missouri, when her husband, Mel Carnahan, was killed in an airplane crash. At the time of the crash, he was down in the polls to Rep. John Ashcroft, but public sentiment went to her and she won.
