I thank this was a good hire for the boys. I wish a much thought had went into the Girls hire. Messer is going to have to prove herself to the team and the fans if she can get the fan back in stands that is. All we can do now is hope for the best and support the teams.

Finally we have administrators who are doing what is beat for our kids. I know they where pressured to hire a local guy, but how do you hire a local who doesn't have the experience to handle the job. I say outstanding hire. This guy has proven he knows what it takes to get to the next level. Knox Co. You always complain about politics in knox co. And finally they don't play politics, you complain. WOW. Time to grow up. Thank you mr. Sprinkles, mr Melton and mr Canady for doing the right thing. It is truly refreshing to see.

A couple of random thoughts to ponder. Winning a state 2 A title in New Mexico basketball is similar to winning a JV state title here in Kentucky. Kentucky high school basketball is a bit more challenging. But Coach Voight does have the luxury of playing against 3 class A schools within the beloved 51st district, so he should win that with ease next year. As for doing the right thing, that remains to be seen. IF Voight was the best person who applied or the best person they contacted then so be it. I find it hard to believe they could not have found a proven coach from within the state. There will be a huge learning curve when it comes to 13th region coaches, officals and level of play for the new coach. He had zero summer games to gauge his team and will be mid november or later before a couple of his best players even enter the gym.

I sit here and listen to u ramble and dream. The football team aint going do nothing.
Can not throw the ball only backwards. No passing game.
The basketball team had worry about winning the district tournament. U r only in the weakest district in the state of Ky and I would probably should include the nation.
U guys are to dumb to win. Speaking of state championship and all the region titles. Be realistic is aint going happen. No way

Listening to him speak at the press conference he has great ideas. His style of coaching sounds great, but what is he going to do when his style doesn't work with some teams? Will he be willing to make changes to adjust?

Surely even in NM he had to make some in game adjustments from time to time? I say with his impressive won/loss record and state championship that he has made the correct adjustments! Feedback I have heard from most is very positive about our new coach.

Wow...you have so much knowledge about every subject! The school district should have hired you for superintendent, principal, coaches, athletic director and teachers! They could save millions of dollars! But, yet you sit here wasting your time criticizing the hire instead of getting behind our children and the programs...sad, so sad you are!

I agree we should get behind the kids but he/she made some interesting points! I do hope that the administration, and our wonderful AD looked into all that when making the decision to hire this new coach. He doesn't know alot about the kids just what he has been able to obtain through watching video.

This guy should be able to evaluate talent. We have to get some brothers for defense and rebounding.
The panthers ain't going any where with an all white lineup.
Remember the great teams and names, potter, Bledsoe, white, reed, Hughes etc
Get some jumpers on the team
Enough said

You all better hope it's not Patterson from what I have seen he's definitely not mature enough to handle it and he's not as nice as people think.
That's the most true statement I've ever seen on here! This is a guy that used to find it funny to smack clayton gray in the back of the head and knock his books out of his hands. Tony patterson is a waste of time and I feel sorry for any kid that is forced to put up with him

Tony and his friends abused underclassmen and less fortune kids daily. Today what they did would be viewed as criminal. Smacking people in the head, throwing basketball balls at freshman, striping kids off naked in the locker room and hiding their clothes, the list goes on. Kids were terrified to go in a locker room, get on a bus, or even walk down the section of hallway that Tony and his friends occupied. They performed systematic abuse for years. Wesley king too
