I'm so happy in this wonderful town we have a judge and jury called topix. All of us have only heard one side of the story and I'm sure school officials will look into appropriate actions today. I saw the story on tv and thought the kid looked quite traumatized as he smiled through the entire story. My understanding it was after school in locker area and therefore no teachers, nurses, etc wouldn't have been on premises. Not sure who was in charge but I'm sure the entire story will come out. I agree there is no way to totally keep knives out of school except for parents making sure they don't have them when they arrive. The parents expect no weapons at school but do not do their part to make sure it isn't their kid who is bringing them. It's easy to point a finger.
The principal is responsible for making sure students are supervised when on campus. If they were there for football then the coach is responsible. Students cannot be on campus even after school unsupervised

Concerning these two boys, I turn to the famous and immortal Forest Gump...Stupid is, as Stupid does. One boy said he was going to cut the other(I believe in a way of being goofy) and the other said I dare you. Hence you end up in this situation. I cant believe any malicious intent was committed here, just two boys acting like _____ well you fill in the blank.

Our Politicians and teachers hate Topix because it gives people a way to get too much information. Tpoix also gives people a way to share information with others and that should be a big no, no. Now with that said, which one are you?

How accurate is "way to get too much information"? There is something to be said for sharing information in a credible way, not malicious gossip, or information displayed as facts that is truly just hearsay. I don't think a lynch mob should start because of what someone perceives to be true. Just sayin'.

Thanks, you answered my question. You must be a teacher, Do you want me to redo my comment correctly? Teachers, politicians and clergy seem to hate Topix because of our easy access to information. You know it must make it harder for them to sweep stuff under the rug.

if anyone believes at least 5% of what's said on here they are nuts. This is just a forum for people to get junk overblown and exaggerate the truth. It's just humerus reading and a way to kill time. Nothing more and nothing credible.

Was it a black kid who stabbed him ? School might not do anything because of that. If a white kid stabbed a black kid it would be game over for that kid.

this is not the first time this has happened, 5 yrs ago another kid got cut in much the same fashion at girdler elementary. another student had taken apart a plastic pencil sharpener, removed the razor blade, and sliced a kids arm while standing in the lunch line. that kid wrote a letter to the principal, chuck hill, who then forwarded it to the powers that be, and it was put in front of the state. as a result many school systems in the state banned the sharpeners and replaced them with standard sharpeners in every classroom......, but not in knox county....where the child had requested it be done. Anyone remember the child? yeah, hes one of the brightest kids in the state going to school in another county.
