Know your facts so you dont make yourself so like more of a douch than you are!! IT WASNT THE KIDS KNIFE
It wasn't the guys gun the shot the kids ar Sandy Hoook either. By the way it takes a special kind of person to think this makes a difference. You have to take some responsibility for this kids failures if this is your way of thinking. You're kinda messed up in the head.

It was an accident. Everything I have heard leads me to believe this was a terrible thing that occurred but it was not an intentional act. Get over it.

How was it not a intentional act? In the report it says "I walked in there and one of my buddies said I'd stab you," said Smith. Nathan called his bluff, and that's when another friend chimed in. "I said go ahead if you have the (expletive). He just goes over and slices my leg." Sounds kinda intentional to me...

Horseplay-rough, boisterous play.
synonyms:tomfoolery, fooling around, roughhousing, clowning, buffoonery, fun; More..
Don't sound like the boy who was cut was having fun or fooling around. Horseplay to me is considered as running around smacking one another or something. Not cutting someone with a knife. I never said he was a vicious phyco. But the point is that something should be done about it... What if it were your child who got cut?

No the one who did the actually stabbing wasn't the one who brought the knife. That however does not make him less guilty. In order for someone to make a pocket knife go deep enough to cut through blue jeans, & puncture the skin coming within less than 1/4 of an inch from his main artery, can not be horseplay. That took a lot of force and pressure behind the knife to cause that sort of wound. It was intentional.
KC school board needs to take this seriously, brushing it off as nothing is opening up the minds of too many kids who have considering bringing weapons to school. Both the boy who brought the knife, and the boy who did the stabbing should be punished. We could be talking about an involuntary man slaughter at a highschool had that knife went the tiniest bit deeper! & isn't a weapon on school grounds a federal offense? And please tell me, why would the school nurse not check it? I would think a report of stabbing is something worth calling an ambulance over as well. As a personal friend of Nathan & his family, I saw the wound and the amount of blood that were on his jeans. Any trained nurse should have known how serious it was. If this had been my child i would not stop until I owned KCHS. They definitely failed on this.

But it all comes down to this, Nathan doesn't have an important enough name in the county, and whoever the child was who stabbed him, must rank a little higher on the money train. and that, as sad as it is, is the truth.

Start a protest and get it noticed. It will bring eyes and ears to what happened. Don't stop until something is done about it.

I agree. Lex18 took an interest and if enough people do then something may be done. I'd advise him not to speak anymore on camera and to get a lawyer.

LEX 18 took their concerns to the Barbourville police and the Board of Education both told us they don't believe there was any foul play. The board said they were not aware of how deep the cut was based on what the student had told them at the time, and said they believed the incident was nothing more than horseplay.
This right here is an embarrassment for the Barbourville Police and the Board of Education... Just goes to show if you have money in this small town you can get away with anything...

There are sources beyond this town who can help. I suggest they get a lawyer outside of here and the board surely doesn't have the money to continue with lawsuits

Where was the Teacher's that suppose to be supervising the kids? Where did it happen in a classroom, locker room? Bathroom, No one is supervised no more. If I were the principal don't think I would let it go I would get it solved as soon as possible before it gets out of hand. It could very easy start a riot today these kids tack sides and if they are smart they better get stopped now!!!!!!!

Why did the school send a letter to HS parents saying check backpacks ? I'm guessing pocket knifes are in pockets. Why didn't mr Melton speak on camera ? I'm sure their all coming up with their plan for cover up like they did when the Allen kid about got best to death when no one was supervising. I think theres a pattern of no supervision . I hope these parents don't let it drop
