Bedbugs...easy to get, very hard to get rid of. Outside of paying hundreds of dollars for professional extermination (which usually requires several treatments) you can eliminate these pesky critters yourself. One method to use is steam. You can buy a small hand-held steamer from eBay or other sites for $25.00 or less. This works great for furniture because it can get into small cracks. All bedding should be washed in hot water and dried on hottest setting. 91% alcohol will also kill bed bugs (the regular 70% alcohol is not very effective). It tells alcohol content on the label. 91% is sometimes harder to find but is available most places. Place the alcohol in a spray bottle and spray thoroughly. All the live bugs will probably be killed the first time with steam or 91% alcohol but, if eggs remain, the bugs will return. The eggs, which look like small grains of rice, are killed by steam if you can get the steam to them for a few seconds. The key is to "re treat" everything a couple more times, several days apart, so any eggs you missed (and newly hatched bugs) are killed. If you do these things you WILL eliminate the bugs. It's not a fun job but it works and is worth the effort.

Diatomaceous Earth.... Kills all carapace bugs... Non toxic , can be added to food for control of intestinal parasites, non chemical and totally safe for kids and animals...

We need to deport them back to Mexico where they came from, carried in by illegal aliens. Those in the USA had been killed out by spraying DDT by the 1950's. These bedbugs around today are from Mexico.

Someone must have been reading this thread because most of the local stores are now sold out of the 91% alcohol.

Here's a trick don't move into apartments byside Tommys rootbeer stand thats owned by Tommy. Every apartment is bad infested with bed bugs there is always furniture thrown out there. When I go the gym I see the bug guy there in a pickup truck monthly. The problem its one of those privately owned deals where they use low grade chemicals. I guess all the bugs hitched a ride on the back of all those Mexicans when they crawled under the border.

I can't believe some people would blame bed bugs on a race of people. The truth is there is a WHITE family that lived in Tommy's apartments and in the projects that infested both places with bed bugs. Anyone can pick up bed bugs in places like stores, hospitals and motels. It's not a shame to get them but it is a shame to keep them.

I don't know where you got your information from, but I have lived in these apartments since august 2013 and we have never had a problem with bed bugs. I know way back in the past long before I moved here they did have a problem with bed bugs, but that was taken care of long before I moved here. Tommy is a good landlord and he doesn't deserve to be put down that way. he did an excellent job of getting rid of them.

oh by the way, why do people like you want to bash the Mexicans? the ones that live here in these apartments are all legal. they are respectful, quiet and they don't bother anyone. they are good people that is just trying to have a better life. that is what America is about, opportunity for everyone regardless of race as long as they are legal. so if you don't like how this country does things then maybe you should move to North Korea or Russia. I like this country just the way it is, FREE!
