The Southeastern Kentucky Militia is recruiting members. SE.KY Militia is a constitutional militia that consists of LAW ABIDING CITIZENS in southeast Ky. We focus on five areas of training to defend against invasion, tyranny, crime prevention, natural disaster and terrorism. We train to defend our family, state, country and the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. U.S code; title 10 chapter 13 defines the Militia under federal law. Militia is also established in the constitution. We are not a hate group or racists and we are not out to overthrow the government like some believe, we support our state and federal government as long as it respects and upholds the constitution. Membership is open to all Kentuckians regardless of race, gender, religion, or political affiliation. Membership is not open to convicted felons, or anyone prohibited from possessing firearms. Military, EMS, Law Enforcement, Firefighter experience is a plus but not required. SEKYM operates in Bell, Clay,Knox,Laurel,Leslie,Harlan ,Owsley,Perry,Jackson,Whitley, Pulaski and Rockcastle counties, but membership is open to all Kentuckians

Most people do not know the validity of the concept.

Beyond what is to be found in the federalist and anti-federalist papers on the matter, and the wording and intent of the 2nd amendment itself, alongside historical anecdote, there is existing federal law addressing the militia:

USC title 10 section 311 defines militia in 2 catagories, the organized militia being national guard and reserves, and the unorganized militia being all able bodied males in a certain age range who are NOT already members of the organized militia.

I think the law in question is part of the Dick Act, and probably exists as justification for the central government to draft the able bodied who are not in the standing guard or reserves when needful.

So dont buy into the hype that all militias are right wing nutjobs. Anyone with a skill to lend or teach should look into this, it will only help the community should a severe disaster actually befall.

Now me personally, I'm too busy trying to get money to gamble with, selfish I know, but the rest of you lazy bastards should join up and train.

just another cover organization for the nearly defunct and frustrated "teabag party" who are being brushed off and ditched in droves by the phony's these shills supported in the last election, their extremist reactionary policy proposals are being dismissed from the hypocritical candidates they supported and temporarily rode on their well publicized coattails.

It's good to see that some people out there like Rogue Leader are well educated on this issue and understand what a Militia really is. But what the uneducated and misinformed such as tea bagger don't understend is that if not for the militia we would probably still be under control of a tyranical dictator King George. The Militia played an important roll in the revolution. They also fought in other vital wars in our history such as the war of 1812. The Militia today has gotten a bad name because of misinformation by the media, and liberal groups like adl, aclu, southern poverty law center. The Southeastern Kentucky Milita does not have any political affiliation, we welcome democrats, republicans, independant or any party.
And to answer Sparky's question, YES we do believe the U.S could be invaded. The U.S is being invaded as we speak, just look at the U.S and Mexico border, there are drug cartels coming into our country bringing drugs, killing our citizens, killing our border patrol agents, shooting our sheriffs deputies and they are tresspassing and destroying property. Meanwhile the Obama administration is standing by and letting this go on and neglecting there duty to protect the U.S.
because of politics. So you ask what can the Militia do. Well Militias from all over the U.S has already been patrolling the border with groups from Arizona,Texas,New Mexico. They have been fired upon by drug cartels, and they assist the sheriffs dept. and border patrol in locating and capturing smugglers. When the government fails to sent troops to the border the citizens has to step up and help. Go to our website www.sekymilitia.webs.com and we have video links on whats going on at the border. The Southeastern Kentucky Militia has been in contact with Militias in Arizona and Texas and we are trying to make arranggment to go to assist them sometime between march and may. If anyone is interested in helping contact us on our site. So before you go demonizing the Militia do some research first and maybe you will understand what it's about.

It looks like NUTJOB is living up to his name. If you take some time and learn the history of this great country you would learn that around 1775 the original colonies were under rule of King George of Britan. And due to his tyrannical laws and contol,(learn what that means ) the colonial army and the citizens Militia fought the british to become a new and independent nation, The United States of America. Though I would say a foreign invasion of the U.S is highly unlikely it is our belief that it is better to be prepared and hope it never happens. there is one reason other nation won't invade the U.S and that is our strong military and our citizens are so well armed. As I said before there is an invasion on our country going on now at the border. The interesting part of all this is most people reading this understands what I'm talking about. But some of the ignorant will never understand because they are to stupid to research why and how they have freedom today.

Been waiting for people to form a militia in Knox now for 10 years... Congratulations! I guess it took some personal convincing over time to conclude that the militia was Constitutional and needful.

Now theres a guy called specialist who might try to join to be in the in crowd, but everybody here will vouch that he was on here recruiting for the kkk so clearly he excluded himself from becoming a member of the militia. If the SEKY Militia have been around here on topixs in barbourville, then they probably already know about specialist. So there are some kkk nut jobs around here.

The Southeastern Kentucky Militia is not a hate group and we don't want anyone who is racist. We welcome members of all races and religion.
The SOUTHEASTERN KENTUCKY MILITIA is a public service group comprised of upstanding, law-abiding patriots. We have no affiliation with, nor do we promote or encourage, any subversive or quasi-subversive entities or acts against the United States of America or against the American People, inside or outside of U.S. borders. Any and all instruction and training is done in strict accordance with Federal, State and Local Laws and regulations. Our group does not and will not associate with - or train - any foreign or domestic entity(ies) that could pose a threat to, or has denounced, the United States of America.
Unit commanders must ensure that militia members consist only of citizens of good character and have no affiliation or involvement with subversive
organizations which may include, but are not limited to those with
communist, socialist or fascist (Neo-Nazi) ties, KKK, foreign governments,
or other supremacist, terrorist or criminal organizations.

True Patriots only, regardless of race.

Whats the purpose in having a militia to start with? Most of us can pretty well take care of ourselves, i know i damn sure can. If an invasion were to take place, they would most likely be able to wipe one of these militia groups out quick.

Well it's not only about invasion, we also prepeare for natural disaster such as floods, tornados any disaster which would require surviving and then assisting the community. We also prepare for civil unrest, under the constitution the militia can have arrest powers if called up by the president, governor or sheriff. When they take the welfare and the foodstamps people will be coming for what you have, so prepare to defend yourself as a group. We also prepare for tyranny, the militia is to keep the government in check if another katrina type gun confiscation event happened, which the local goverment violated the constitution. We believe it is better to be prepared and never use it, then it is to be unprepared when the shtf. besides it's a lot of fun to get together and train.

We are also planning to go to Arizona in comming months to patrol the border with militia groups from across the country, to assist border patrol and Arizona law enforcement to locate the drug cartels illegally crossing the border.

The militia contains ex military folk, and so I doubt that your paradigm of downplaying the significance of the militia will hold valid.
