National Medical Device Registry

`(g)(1) The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the `registry') to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that--
`(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; and
`(B) is--
`(i) a class III device; or
`(ii) a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining.

This is for a registry to document medical devices and their effectiveness so Drs. will know the past performance of the devices. I really don't see the information chips mentioned in this section that you have posted.

doctors are not going to go broke, if a doc complains about student loans, then they should have got into another field. plus, those loans are nothing compared to starting othe rtypes of business. i have friend who are doc and they say they have a 1/4 million debt, so what. i took on 1.1 in 07 so cry me a river.

Life supporting and sustaining life are two things that implanted devices like a pace maker or a dibibrilator that keeps a heart going. That is what the list refers to, not chips.
