Will West have to resign his job with the county? Be a conflict of interest to hold both.

so it's being ran by "somewhere" for 2 years? Looks to me like you are the one talking all the shit .. tell people you dont know to get jobs .. calling them welfare cases? With lowlife losers like you supporting him its no wonder he fell from grace. With help from a no class tramp of your high standing Barbourville wont have to worry about seeing David back in office, now go take a bath and wash your pants .. you smell like spilled catfood in your lap

Sherry Williamson ran the Water Park last year and I worked there and I know for a fact that when the auditors came in there that they found nothing wrong. They commented on what good records she kept. I think this was one thing that got the Water Park in so much trouble in the past years when Wendy ran it. If you have nothing to hide and you are running things by the book you keep all records and hide them from anyone. Sherry done a good job of running the Water Park because she is used to working with the public and used to keeping records and managing things since she manages apartment complexes everywhere.

Why not? it is not difficult job and much of what goes down you just get to watch.
The alderman want to have the last say and you only get to slam the hammer dwn
if they are tied in votes. Some mayors think they have a bigger position, but its
a flexible position and you can have full time job day time too.
You are only joking prolly, but if you could convince anyone .. it's better than have
some outsider come in no one know to stir us up and tick us off 2. You know what
i'm saying.
That's not how i would proceed as mayor... There would be a short list of Goals over and above the normal day to day operation the mayor performs...

1. Get the city to have alcohol sales in Restaurants, Night Clubs and any other Entertainment venues... While not opposed to package sales I really don't care about that as it does not push forward my other Goals...

2. Get Downtown designated as a Historical District with changes in Zoning to reflect such..
a. Tax Break for a set time frame any Biz that either refurb's or builds to a Historical Guide Line to make the city return to a late 1800's look and style...
b. All new companies wanting store frontage required to meet Historical Zoning code...
c. All Existing Buildings inspected and required to preform repairs to Code including Unused Floors or Fined if not in compliance with safety code and building codes...

3. Meet with assorted Entertainment Companies across the nation to seek companies to invest in building a Tourist Industry with a Night Life in the Historical District....

4. Work with the County to Increase Littering Fines to $5,000 and Up depending on number of issued fines... Including Jail for repeat offenders...
a. Working with the Constable Org to allow a cut of all fines issued for littering if such tickets and fines are Provable in court.
b. Hiring City Litter Control City Constables on a Commission Basis so that the City does not Pay a wage from city coffers... Such People would be required to supply all their own transport and cameras to verify contact and would receive a large portion of any fines collected...

5. All Open Public Meeting Broadcast Live via the Net...

And Yes I was Kidding as the Above would mean I would never be elected....

Wrong.
The end result is the same. The mayors were elected by the people and council tried to remove them, it doesn't matter why. Council cannot remove an elected official.
Hey TeeBow are you going to admit you don't know squat?

Well I'm looking at it from a bigger picture than just a night spot... If you want to attract the Best and Brightest to come to an area to start biz, run the local medical systems, qualified teacher and Police officers and all the other slots where we need Highly Educated and Qualified people to build a better area you need to have local entertainment and quality restaurants to keep them here... You just cannot have the Professionals we really need coming to the area and expect them to stay when we have Zero to offer after the a long work day... If you want to have a growing tourist industry you must provide venues that draw them to the town and you will not find such venues willing to locate here without the ability to serve alcohol with a meal or at a night spot...

Coal and Forestry in the region is gone as a major revenue and job source and most other Biz actually suck money from the area instead of bringing it in... We have to find a Industry that brings Outside Money into the town and the only one that I can see as possible is Tourist and our town has a History... If we pressed that history, cleaned the area up, set up Nature trails, Canoe Outfitters, Wilderness camping and other nature based updates along with a Historical District we have the things needed to compete with places like Gatlingburg and other small historical towns across the state...

so much private property in the county limits the use of the things we do have, even putting a couple picnic tables and outhouses along the river would be a PIA and the current trash situation needs o be dealt with. Come to knox county .. see the diaper trees?

Q. this is why nothing works in this town.
Any court house jobs, taken by family and friends.
Any jobs at the jail taken by family and friends.
Any teaching positions, person could have a 4.0 very good skills, position already promised even before interview.
Government help for farmers only a few family and friends usually receive.
No to alcohol beverage sale because politicians fear no re-election.
Any job that pays good in this area are promised.

This is old time politics, but stands still today in Knox Co. Politicians worry more about ensuring their own financial success, securing votes by any means, granting jobs or favors in return for votes, and remaining popular. They are not concerned with social issues, but supported or crushed these issues in accordance with the decision that would benefit them personally. If politicians were judged to be good personally, they were automatically viewed as good politically. Changes were made for personal benefit, not the good of the community.

We'll see how the judge rules. The same thing happened in Lancaster.
I don't care one way or the other but the judges are ruling everything nowadays.
I really would like to see Somerset's council grow a pair and try to get rid of their mayor.
question

Why were council members who went along with mayor all the years in question not impeached. They went along with him, but when new members come in, they had to jump on that wagon because they wanted to look good like the new members. It does not take a rocket scientist to see through all this. People you better wake up and clean some more house. Thompson not in all this by himself
