I would hate to see the hospital close myself.
It aint all that great but I do take my kids there at 2am or early in the morning when they are sick.i mean i think that it would be ashame because it is the closest from where i live to get to you know. i heard that DR.Kumar was leaving too,but idk if theres any truth to that.the hospital is an unfair place to work at. you becer clmb up,and if you dont kiss butts you are out of there.i used to work there for many years, and when Pacer took over, the adminsration changed. They were not good people anymore. I dont know what happened but theres nothing good coming out of all of it

First, the hospital very well may close. Workers have been laid off, and shifts have been cut. New management is needed. When Pacer took over, they left the current supervisors in their positions. Big mistake. Everyone should have been replaced. Its a buddy system with management. Qualifications and education doesn't matterat kch. I know nurses with higher degrees than the director of nursing and more years of experience.
Second they have taken every benefit away from the employees, such as, std, ltd, life insurance, and they don't pay anything for the health insurance. How can a person making 10 dollars an hour afford to pay 250.00 every 2 weeks for insurance? un-heard of in the medical field. Also, holidays have been taken including Labor day, fourth of July, Memorial day, and New Years.
Third, Pacer has purchased many trucking businesses, as well as moved the billing dept. from the hospital, and named it Brick mountain billing. They have sold all there other hospitals and clinics. Where do you think the money is comming from to buy these businesses? It is leaving Knox County and going to Miami. What a mistake for thbe citizens of the county.
Now let me inform you that over the past 2 years the Er's business has grown. The labs business has doubled. Radiology has doubled. surgery dept. has trippled the number of cases. They are doing extremely needed procedures for renal pt.'s, cancer pt.'s, and people from harlan to Mt. Vernon.
The hospital is very profitable, don't listen to the lies you hear. Now Pacer has decided to take away 0.5 hr of vacation time earned from these faithful employees. The county needs to take control, fire the heads, and hire people from outside the area to run the hospital. The money needs to stay in the county. Miami has enough. If you care about the hospital, talk to the people you put in office, they can take control. Everything you hear isn't always the whole truth, ask the employees, they need a union!!!!

when some ppl were hired from out of the county for the buisness office and other positions, it starting falling apart and loosing money, somebody is getting rich and it's not the little guys, that does the hard work, you can go for test and see the lard as*** walking the halls to go on break, doing nothing but getting a big ck, some of the DR's are good and keeping it going, that's ashame about the ins, and holidays and under pay and lpn make less than aides at BRMC. we do need a GOOd hospital and locally run, didn't have any problems when Ray Kennedy was there at the old hospital was a good place to work

Well all the foreighn Doctors has Robed the American people and they are finished with the Hillbillys and ready to go retire In Dubai United Arab Emirates we deserve it's so easy to rob a bunch of low IQ adult retarts two generations from the shot house like taking candy from a child the people In south east Ky are known for there dumbness so if we end up at home in the bed with no hospital and Doctors maybe we can get the barbers to pull out teeth and butchers to whack off rotting parts and use midwifes to deliver babys that we cant feed.

i worked at knox co for 11 yrs, it was great, that was the old hospital under ray canady.. when craig morgon took over, not only was he a jerk but a tailhole too, its not the greatest place in the world but its there, and let me tell you Corbin hospital is not nor will ever be as good of a place to work as knox co. was, and yes at corbin the employess's pay thier own benefits and don't get paid holidays, they have paid time off and if you don't have enough hours to cover that holiday you work or lose that 8 hrs in pay, and honestly that last thing they should have done was build the new hospital, if you don't have the money don't do it or go in debt and hope you can make the payment, pray that knox co doesn't close because like the other people said its the only place thats close around here.

There are good people that work at the hospital, and very well quilified nurses and doctors, why they still work there is beyond me, alot I know work there to say close to home and not travel out of town. I worked there for years. The Board, administor, Ceo, took money from the hospital to build there homes and line there own pockets with the money the buddy system was there so nobody would tell on nobody cause the management office was all getting a piece of the pie and poor management by very selfish people that only wanted the money. Now these people have left with the money and some were charged with crimes some got away with it, here is the results of action of very selfish people. The Budddy system has covered up people stealing money, drugs being stole from patients by nurses, lab worker, doctors, cna, etc, affairs by coworkers, The buddy systems has covered up alot but her is the results. The citizen of Knox County is what suffers from these selfish acts. Not all the employees were or are like that, but the good one suffer because of the bad.
