Did he used to be a Sheriff or Constable of Knox County? He used to own a grocery store in Bimble. He and Nan raised a grandson that was nicknamed "Littleun". I think his real name was Cliffton or Clinton. I remember Monroe Davis from a long, long time ago.

Limbertwig wrote: <quoted text>Yes. The grandson's name was Harrison. Boyd was a wife beater and was running around with a woman while he was married to Nan. Nan was my grandmothers sister. We used to go visit them, they lived in the back of the store. Harrison saw Boyd beating on Nan one day and told Boyd "every dog has its day". Boyd married the other woman before Nan was cold in the ground. He was a bastard in every sense of the word. I think Harrison went to Berea Bible College to become a minister.

My knowledge of my dads family is very limited because he and my mother separated when I was a very young child. All that I know has come from my mother, and not much of it was good.I didn't know my grandfather and granmother Davis. I have often stood at my grandmothers grave and wondered what kind of person she was. I see Harrison occasionaly, He teaches school here in Knox County. I have family from the Patterson side living very close to me but they are a mystery to me. My only memory of Nan is when she was lain out in her coffin at my uncles house, I was a young boy. Recently I've searched through census records but so far there hgas been very little information mainly because its hard to connect the names. Thank you for the information about my grandfather Boyde.

Recently I've searched through census records but so far there hgas been very little information mainly because its hard to connect the names. Thank you for the information about my grandfather Boyde. The Pattersons that I know about were brothers to Nancy and Sarah. There was, Cecil, Joe Will and Jimmy. There was a Latimore in there somewhere but I don't know the relation. I think he was a brother to Nan and Sarah. I don't remember Joe's wife's name. Cecil's wife was Quillie (might not be spelled right) Will's wife's name was Anna and Jimmy's wife's name was Maxine. Maxine used to have a used shoe store downtown Barbourville. They had a big A frame house out on the new 25E towards Bimble. They had 2 daughters. Joe had kid's but I don't know their names. I think they are all still in Barbourville but can't be sure. I don't recall Cecil and Quillie having any kids and Will and Anna didn't either. Sarah had 4 sons and a daughter. The son's names were Roy, William, Charles and Arnold. The daughter's name was Betty. The only living one now is Charles. They were Grays from Sarah's marriage to Roscoe Gray. Except for Roy, he was named Patterson. Never did figure that one out. So there you go, a little family tree info.
