Mike Corey is a great person with a big heart. He would help anyone that he could. He will always have my family support.
Mike Smith, although I do not know him personally he should be more than capable of running the Sheriff's office, with the experience of KSP on his belt. John Pickard has done a good job also. So whoever wins this position between the two will do an excellent job.
We were and I hope still are in the Promise Zone so I want someone who will have everyone's best interest as far as jobs, putting to rest the hospital fiasco and keeping your nose out of others jobs and Dennis Gibson will best benefit that job.
Bill always PVA.
If they do a great job keep them in family or not. Not for JM Hall at all.

Well if this would to happen, their would be no one commenting Adultly right. Really I like all of the ones you talked about (Corey's), now this is what I would do if I was in a power struggle. If I got elected and had the power to run this county, "I would hire everyone of my family if possible, all my so called friends. then I would go around and check to see if their driveways were in good shape first. That is so they could get to work on time, then everyone of them would get a raise to make sure after four years they would not have to work no more. So what is wrong with this it really don't matter who I am this what I would do. So go out and find you someone who is running for office that would not do the same thing OK.

Do unto to others as you would have them to do unto you!!!!!!!!!!

Food for thought is right. BUT still missing another bigger connection. Who is in control of the biggest employer in Knox County?
As I see it,the biggest employer in the county is the state and goverment. Too many people have never worked a day in there life.(ssi) They do love those pop trains.

Ok, add this to your story. Mary Stewart Hammons is the brother to Jim Stewart who are also cousins to Mike Corey.

Ok, this is what I don't understand. You said "Well if this would to happen, their would be no one commenting Adultly right". Not a complete sentence. I understood the rest completely. Finish your first sentence.

Mike Corey IS NOT KIN to Mary Hammons or any of the candidates. This is just an attempt to stir trouble. If you don't believe it then go and research his family tree and see for yourself.

If you don't need to make a name for yourself then why are you hiding who you are? You have to hide behind a computer to express your thoughts and concerns for our county.

Who cares who this person is?? There are times it's best not to reveal who you are. Have you heard of a HOTLINE??
Well just thing of Topix as a HOTLINE. I'm glad that this person let everyone know this bit of info I did not know these people were all related. It is a good thing to know before Election Day. All info needs to be known doesn't matter who the messenger is or not to me it doesn't.

Okay so I wasn't sure if anyone else has thought about this but I just realized it and thought that it might be something to think about before we all cast our votes in May/November. So for 3 positions in running right now you have Mike Smith running for Sheriff, Mike Corey running for County Clerk and Mike Blevins running for Coroner. Here's the relation.

Mike Smith is married to Gina COREY Smith. Gina Corey Smith is the cousin of Mike Corey. That puts a relation by marriage. Mike Smith is also the blood cousin of Mike Blevins. So there you have it. Smith, Corey and Blevins are all in cousin relation.

Now maybe this doesn't raise anyone else's eyebrows but it does make me worry. I have nothing against any of them personally. I have voted for Corey and Blevins in the past and I don't know much about Mike Smith but what I do know has not really been anything bad. So this isn't a plot against any of them personally. My worry is that we have already had so much corruption in this town in the past and that basically if we vote in a whole family to different positions in Knox County, we might be opening ourselves up to plenty more. Not saying that any of these men are corrupt, but its more of an open door if someone is to have your cousins in the positions next to you. Whether it be Sheriff, County Clerk, Judge Executive, etc.
I'd like everyone else's opinions on this and just want to throw out there that we need to be careful who we vote in this term. Nothing against this particular family, but in my opinion its a scary thought to have ANY one family in multiple political positions in any city or town. Just some food for thought.
Don't scare me actually makes me smile everyone of them have our huge families vote!

When they do jet in office they hire mostly family anyway, so the whole courthouse is ran by mostly family already, They need to pass a law where any elected official can't hire any of their family members at all.

At least all they have the gumption to get out and work. I don't care if they are family or not, each one that works means that much more won't leave my check for the dead beats that won't.
