Should you be disqualified from voting if you draw a check for being mentally unstable ? I think that if it makes you unable to stand trial for anything because you are unable to make a rational decision, you should be unable to vote also.

Just because your are disabled doesnt mean you are retarted. You people that get on here and stick your noses in everything are the retarted ones. If half the people in barbourville kept there noses on there faces this would be a half way decent place to live but every body else is jealous of each other and they try to bring every body down because every one else has a little more then they do wah wah wah

Why is the word Drawing always related to Govt. handouts like welfare? A drawing is an image of something that has been penciled by hand. It could be used as drawing water from a well. Why don't you just say "the people that get a Govt. welfare handout check? You belittle the word Drawing since it is used mainly in an artistic sense out in the working public.

Maybe the above Poster should look up the definition of 'draw'. Someone working in a public setting shouldn't have such a limited vocabulary.

There is a difference between criminally insane and disability.

There is no such thing as physically disabled without having a mental problem. So I think if they are on goverment assistance they should not be allowed to vote or a drivers license. I don't want one of these mental cases running over me take their drivers license!!!!!!!!!

Its according to the level of their disability and if they're being treated by a physician. I would think if they were a danger to themselves or anyone else they would be hospitalized.

Thousands of American soldiers come home from war disabled from fighting for our country and by your logic here, you would strip the of their rights the moment they came back - the very rights that they fought for? What about our coal miners, too? Men who toil in the mines their entire lives, only to end up with broken backs and damaged lungs? I haven't met a one yet that hasn't ended up disabled by the time they're in their 50's. Our soldiers, our workers, the people who protect and provide for us stripped of their rights because they gotten permanently injured in the process?

Wow. What a hero you are.

(I won't even mention how anti-American it is to strip a person of their right to vote based solely on their medical record or what an immense government-based invasion of privacy such a thing would be. Frankly, I thought people were generally against this kind of thing, but I guess I was mistaken? Huh.)

I honestly think only the ones who receive a disability check for mental disbilities should be disqualified.
