And the way I heard it was the boy had a gun on him too which was found by emt on the scene. Scary stuff in what used to be a peaceful neighborhood. I know a good many of those people and if he needed help with ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING all he'd had to do was ask and he would have got some help. It sure it pitiful to see things like this happen.
If he was armed those cops giving us the info on the news would said that right off the bat and the case would be CLOSED and NOT STILL OPEN!

Sad to say, in my opinion more of this needs to start happening maybe things like the Danville murders would not have happened, they would have thought twice and withdrawn their plan. Sorry if this offends anyone but try to imagine those poor babies who lost both parents today, we can only hope and pray to God the little boy did not see his parents leave this world that way. That is something no child should have to go through. May God be with all victims tonight and the many days ahead. I feel the shooter in our county is also a victim. God bless you all!!!!

You are absolutely right about that and when the economy does crash again it won't just be an addict that steals some change but anyone that is doing without food water etc.We are living in scary times.Listen guys.I do NOT think Randy should have been where he was and doing what he did.My point is.They caught him while inside the truck and BOTH of them held him at gun point and THE NEIGHBOR SHOT HIM not the owner of the property.I am simply saying that things were done wrong on BOTH SIDES.When I was angry earlier it was just for the simple fact that I was scrolling down to endless trash talk about someone I care about.Who wouldnt get mad?I understand that most would feel threatened by someone outside their home but the fact is.He wasnt armed and BOTH OF THEM WERE.According to the news.He needed help like ALL addicts do but society fails them with SO much hate when if they would show love them perhaps that would reach them and make them feel worthy enough to quit.Addicts all have the same background.Abuse, neglect, tramp led on.They lose their self worth and they give up on themselves because of all the hate.Love CURES all.We should love addicts too.So that they feel like its worth living again. He was dying anyway.Drugs take over your mind and thoughts.MINDCONTROL! To me that isnt really them.Sorry for the rage earlier but its hard seeing people say he deserved to die.The Court systemsdo not give a thief the death penalty so why should anyone?
I do not know if the shooter did the wrong thing, I was not there.. That will be left up to the courts to figure out... But this guy Randy was a low life POS with multiple felonies and a pill head that was Dangerous and if not shot the other night it could very well have been him killing someone another night... After seeing his police record he was already a dead man walking and I don't know if I even feel bad for his kids someone said he had... This may have been good for them to get rid a thieving felony doper from destroying their lives if it is not already too late...

Of course not but who wants to die?I would run too if given a chance.Look you dont have to be so HARD with your comments.I know what he done was wrong and he should never have been there in the first place but THE NEIGHBOR had no authority to shoot him.If the shooter was right in shooting him then the detective would not have said the grand jury could charge him.We will just have to wait and see.You are not hurting him with rude comments obviously but you most definitely along with the others that posting are tearing his friends and family apart from the inside out.Can you all please tone it down with the abusive remarks? Please?

This is one of the 10 commandments which so many people choose to ignore. If you are a thief and steal then this is what is going to happen. We can't take chances they will kill us for money to buy drugs. If everyone would start shooting and not asking questions later maybe some of it would stop.

The court system just slaps them on the wrist and lets them go. I blame them for this they should have kept him in jail where he belonged instead of turning him back out on the streets to do it again. If they come to my house I will shoot if they are stealing from me. Just beware and keep your gun ready.

The police won't come and even do their jobs when someone steals. They come and look around and tell you that you should put your money in a security system. If you put it in one would they even come to investigate when it went off? I don't think so. I didn't know this man but there are plenty more out there like him and maybe this will teach them not to steal and be where they are not supposed to be.

Again read the 10 commandments. Also an eye for eye and etc. The world is gone to drugs and its a shame. The police and court system needs to do more to protect the working man and not the thieves and druggies.

We the People of this County are Pissed Off at the Meth head, Pill heads & Thieves destroying and taking that which we work hard for... It is Out of Hand and the Police cannot or have not made a dent in it in a long time and as a result I and most of the people I know are fed up and are armed and willing take it upon ourselves to stop it... That thief had a long felony record including possession of a gun by a convicted felon... Don't you get it? He may have been thought of well among his doper thieving friends but he is considered a Dead man Walking among law abiding citizens...

If he was your friend you need to pick better friends before you end up with your own personalized tie tag.. If he was your family make an effort to make sure other members of your family understand that it has gotten to the point that people are tired of this crap and are going to start thinning the herds... I'm being Hard on purpose... I don't want to see another dead kid and I'm trying to make you see that making excuses and defending this Long time Felon will fall on deaf ears around here and Mayby you will take it to heart and pass it around that if someone breaks into a small out building to steal a cheap gas can it can and very well will mean their death sentence...

If I catch someone breaking into Any building, car on our family land I and my relatives will kill them without a blink... If caught do not attempt to run.. Don't fight...Do exactly as told... and you may live for a court date... because toe tags are cheap...

After looking at his record I agree.. He should have been in prison until he was at least in his 50's .. I do like the 3 strike if it were followed to the letter... 3 felony convictions and it's Life without parole... Get caught as a felon with a gun an automatic 20 years...

We got it the first few times.Ok!Yes thieving has become rampant in this town and I understand the point you are making but for God's sake have compassion for the Mother who is in total meltdown.

Police spent much of the morning searching for shell casings at a Morris Lane home of a Barbourville-area pastor, after a burglar was shot trying to steal the parto's van.

The pastor said his neighbor spotted someone walking along the nearby train tracks at around midnight, and then make a burglary attempt.

"The subject came over behind the van, walked around to the side of the van, and was inside of the van whenever the homeowner and his neighbor approached him," said Trooper Jacobs.

State Police Trooper Shane Jacobs says the pastor's neighbor's wife called 911 as he called the owner of the van.

Both grabbed a gun, and approached the burglar. The two men say they caught him in the act.

"At that time they put him down over here in the grass, and told him to wait until police arrived," Trooper Jacobs said.

But just moments before officers got there, the burglar ran, said the two men.

The homeowner said his neighbor had his gun raised to the burglar, because it looked like the burglar was about to throw something at him. He said the neighbor accidentally fell down when he already had that gun raised, and when he hit the ground, a shot went off, striking the burglar.

The shooting victim died on the way to the hospital, and troopers say the story seems to hold up.

And based on that information, they're not charging the shooter at this time.

Oh the stories just keep on changing dont they? Please. How can he just be standing an accidentally fall down?BS! I will make sure this is investigated another way.Things are not adding up here.So to say the story seems to hold up is a bit fishy to me.Trust me you dont accidentally fall standing in one spot unless you are running after him.

Old men fall down all the time... Opps, his bad... But ya know ifn the young guy would have just sit his Buttox down and waited for the cops he might have been back on the streets in a few days to get his buzz on and rob somebody else... but that might have gone wrong too and it was the next old man that we hear about dead like the 14 people that have been killed in the area over the last 5 years by people trying to rob them... With his record the cops are going to pretty much ignore your calls for investigation and will chalk it up to "suicide by citizen" on his part... Moral of the story.. Don't rob people and ifn ya get caught by some old guy with a gun, do exactly what he says to do...

Listen, hang it up! You have agreed over and over he should not have been there, OK get it already. HE was breaking the law, he had NO BUSINESS being on anyone's property after midnite prowling through their cars! It is obvious from his actions the Mother done nothing to raise him right or he would not have been a repeat felony in my opinion . If he wanted to change he would have done so after serving time. Obvious to me there was no choice left for him in the world but to meet his maker and give account! Sorry if this hurts you, its facts dear. Bury him and move on! All you can do now, no need trying to make an innocent person pay for your troubles.

BTW , if you will notice this was WLEX 18 NOT WYMT OR WKYT. You have different reporters with different questions therefore you are going to get different answers!!!

The thieving dope head got caught and was killed, eyewitnesses, the police and the facts prove that. All this other B.S. will be sorted out and if the shooter acted carelessly he will be charged.

The story remains constant, A persistent felon, a piece of crap got himself killed and the area is better off for it. Let this be a lesson to all moms and family members, people are fed up with the drug dealers and their victims and the disfunctional systems that produce these scumbags.

The justice system including the police cannot handle all this crap that is going on, they do their best but that is not getting it done, folks are going to have to protect themselves in cases such as this and that means more people are gonna end up dead.

The dead thief is primarily a victim of those who sell and deal in drugs, not the shooter.

No he did not! Did you not listen to or read the news article above? What does it matter anyway? He took care of a thorn in the systems butt in my opinion. Not only theirs but ours, no one can get a good nights sleep anymore because of people like this, all we can do to make it through a days work, even though it is to keep them up anyway with our tax dollars, its not enough for them though to have a free meal for their kids. Geeez sorry gut that's the way I feel.
