glad to know the boy is okay. it is awful snakes are everywhere, and im so glad this little boy was okay and it was not worse. I was always told if you didnt get to emergency officials withen a short amount of time like minutes you could die from that or copperhead. ive also been told by someone in national guards thats there are black snakes and copperheads that are cross breeding the snakes look like a simple black snake but are part copper head also, said that at the cuberland falls they are having major issues with this particular problem. Ive heard a few others mention seeing a copperhead nest with babies but a black snake curled with it, and so this seems to be a growin problem so be weary of any snake even if they do look like black snakes

all i am doing is restating what I was simply told by a guard who had been helping with them at the falls because they were having issues with them, and ive heard a few others talk about it. BESIDES LOOK ON WYMT NEWS .COM AND YOUWILL SEE ABOUT THE HYBRID SNAKES AND SNAKES CROSS BREEDING. Im not going to argue with you, thats not me, im just stating what Ive heard and seen on news.

I am in the National Guard, and I can state for a fact that this is total BS! There are NO such thing as hybrid snakes, and the Guard is NOT out looking for them, if you see a black snake around your house, be glad, because they keep the other ones away.

the copperhead and rattlesnakes are live-bearing snake, typically producing two to ten young or more they do not lay eggs and a black snake can't cross breed with a copperhead read a book about copperheada or rattlesnakes

If people can cross breed why couldnt a snake do that I've been told in july when the black berries are ready for picking it's dog days and snake are blind in dog days so they will strike at any sound. I have seen one snake this yr and it was while i was weed eating i thought i would be able to hit it with the weed eater no way it was moving to fast

article below is at bottom of link

Ask the Ombudsman
Q: I have been hearing that copperheads & black snakes are cross breeding. I didnít think different species could cross breed. How could this rumor get started?

A: This rumor is a pretty easy one to dispel since black rat snakes lay eggs and copperheads bear live young. Also, youíre correct in that these are different species incapable of cross breeding. The Conservation Departmentís herpetologist said the laws of heredity prevent cross breeding from happening. Because, the chromosome number for each species is different, it would be as impossible as a hawk mating with a chicken or a cat mating with a dog.

He said the rumor likely got started when someone saw a black rat snake with some patterns on its body, and wrongly assumed that it had resulted from a copperhead breeding with black rat snake.

Black rat snakes only turn black when they mature. Young black rat snakes have patterns, mainly gray with black blotches.

Ombudsman Ken Drenon will respond to your questions, suggestions or complaints concerning Conservation Department programs.

those kits are usless copperhead and rattlesnakes venom are not the same only the very old or very young will die from most snake bites or if thier allergic to the venom
a copperhaed bite cause a fever swelling in the spot bite and usly a large pus ball on the place biting by the next day your unlikly to die from a copperhead bite unless your very old or very young or if your allergic to the venom or have been bite by more then one copperhaed at the same time.
400 victims of copperhead bites found only two deaths, both the result of simultaneous bites by three or more snakes.

How many people die from Three or four people die each year from rattlesnake bites in the United States, out of perhaps 8,000 bites a year
people give rattlesnake and copperheads a bad name thinking thier evil thier not most people that get biting are trying to kill the snake or trying to play with it not knowing what thier doing the only thing on this world that is evil is man .
