Instead of worrying about the old mayor, let's accept the fact that mistakes were made and move forward.

What should Mayor West do to improve the city? Let's try to keep the comments to something productive. If you want to bash go to one of the other posts.

We need help with our utility bills. Need to look into whoever is running that type of thing. I know since Young left that all of that stuff has gotten out of control.

He needs to take a look at who's running each department, from roads, to water and electric to police. Make sure the pay is fair and adjust as needed to match surrounding areas.

The biggest and most important request for our temporary Mayor is this. The reason other Counties succeed is by getting the best workers, educated people and people that are truly qualified for jobs in their County. The reason we don't have and will never get ahead is because it's all about this:
NEPOTISM, the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.
Our children suffer with educators, our citizens suffer no jobs. Give jobs to people who truly qualify.

im not sure bringing jobs is the mayors job, the city limits are where his jurisdiction ends. Jobs for the county are not his responsibility. new small business fillig the empty buildngs in town would be nice though.Working with the county to create an atmosphere that encourages growth and offer somehing to potential investers, until the good ole boy system is gone nobody with basic common sense will build here or stay here

Walmart killed the small retailer in this town, the trade off was a few minimum wage jobs. The political minds that brought walmart had vision of things to come ..with no thought to what they would lose.Does anyone remember who was responsible for bringing walmart, and who sold their basicly worthless land to them?
