It's NOT food stamps and welfare, you idiot. It's government jobs, such as forestry dept. and State workers.

If the day comes that the government ever gets a backbone, and actually cuts those that are abusing the system off of welfare/food stamps, you will see the crime rate explode! Do you honestly think the cradle-to-gravers would stand for it? Not in a million! Somebody would have to stand guard at your home 24/7 to keep someone from carrying off everything you have. Not all, but the majority of those folks think we owe them a free ride, and that warped way of thinking wouldn't change just because the government cut them off. It won't be long before the welfare population outnumbers the working population, and how on earth will we afford to keep them up? The government has created a society of parasites, and that was not the original purpose of welfare. It was created to benefit those people that needed temporary assistance, not to become lifetime benefits. It wouldn't surprise me if over half of those getting food stamps in this area are doing so fraudulently. Most work for cash, live with a spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend that they claim not to live with, and they all have friends that will sign their government papers and lie for them. I've been asked many times to sign those papers, and not once have I done so. Those are the people that would rob or kill you for money, not those that truly need the help. Those that truly need the help usually see government assistance as a last resort, and I'm willing to bet those people are the last ones you would hear complain.

I agree with you. As my fathers last resort for help with my mother was applying for a medical card. They told my father to divorce her, after 50 yrs. of marriage and they would help or sign his house over to them. Its truely sad that the ones needing help and have worked all their lives can't get help. Yet we working ppl. pay for the ones abusing the system.
