I have seen first hand how these religious groups can move mountains.
My question for such groups is this "Why do you sit by and not hold rallies when you have all these meth dealers and manufacturing working in some cases next to the churches and schools?"
When they are caught and released, why are you not protesting outside the court house. What is destroying our youth is a drug that is frying peoples brain, rottening their teeth, and killing our youth in a growing rate.

I would like for one person on this forum to give me a concrete answer why these groups have not stepped forward on a far more lethal drug than alcohol.

I for one did not care if we went wet or dry by the way.

Another thing read the Advocate, you will see the increase. What people don't understand that shootings, killings, suicides robberies and small children are in these meth houses.
Apparently it has not effected a few but give it a few more months.

I have to agree with you on that, I think meth and the pill problem is definitely a bigger and more scary issue than alcohol. But the only reason people protested is because it was a vote that was determine whether its legal or not. Alcohol is already here and has been for years, same as drugs, but they didn't protest. If it came down to a vote for pot or anything else to be legal, you'd see another protest. These people aren't going to the houses of those arrested for DUI or PI, or protesting at the courthouse when a drunk is arrested and released from jail. It came to a point to where you had to vocally take a side, and so they took it. If it came to that point with meth or anything else, you'd see the same thing. Hope that helps answer your question. And as a Christian myself, I would love to see a bigger fight against the meth problem, and pill problem, in this town. You're right, its destroying Knox County more than anything else, and a scary thought for our kids future. God bless.

This is my point exactly. I know last year alone there were more arrest for Meth Manufacturing. Well some of these Meth Manufacturers were beside churches and schools. Why did they not go to the court system to make sure they were prosecuted. They are still going strong and I have not seen any long term sentences given except when they were caught and released in a couple of days.
Call your sheriff office and ask how many felons are out now living in apt. near churches and schools.
What if one of the labs had exploded near a church or school and your children or grandchildren were hurt or exposed to the chemicles. There is a reason when hazzmat come in these places suited top to bottom.
These organizations and school boards does have a reason to be there to make sure they are shut down.
Which also brings us back to all the church robberies, home robberies this is far more scary problem than people realize.

I completely agree with you ,the pastors and their church members should be out in full force against the Meth Labs and the meth cookers.,they should also be against the child abuse that happens in these meth labs. we are to speak out against drugs and children and women and the elderly being abused.we will be held accountable the Bible says when you have done it unto the least of these you have done it unto ME!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of people do not realize how bad the problem is. I was against the wet vote, just because we cannot control the problems we are dealing with today. I think since people can control the wet vote they should be out in full force trying to fix what the County has created.

So true.

Remember, most of them don't even know their own Bible. They're just doing whatever their unlearned, Biblical illiterate preacher's tell them to do, and they know it.

Controlling whether alcohol is sold here does not control the fact that people will still continue to drink. Even if they the church rallied against meth and drug use people will still have their labs, and their prescriptions. People will still continue to drink here as much as they did before, and all the protesting in the world won't stop that. Arrests are made for drugs and meth labs are being busted almost daily, but all the Sheriff can do is arrest them. The fault is on the court who in turn sets them free with a slap on the wrist. I agree that this town should start a war on Meth, its the most evil drug there is, but it shouldn't just be up to the Church. It will take an entire community to fight it, and unfortunately alot of our community is on it. But as much as we fight and protest, it won't stop meth. It took bringing it to a legal city wide vote to get people to raise their voices against alcohol, and unfortunately it will probably take that or more before someone will ever begin a war on meth. Very sad. But I do agree, meth is the real demon thats destroying our town.

What is the problem with the court system then?
People that live in the big high rise area of the world never worry about these problems until it comes knocking on their door. We have to many people in Knox Co. that are kin or someone has alot of pull or they just don't have the money to house them in jaul, what the heck is going on?
I agree a certain group of people cannot save this County but when you know of children going to sleep at night with a lab in the next room and you know young adults overdoseing on drugs left and right, I feel you should put an effort to help see these people are being taken care of.

I agree completely, and I guess most people feel thats the burden of the police and court system. I feel like the police do a great job with a limited supply of deputies and resources, but for some reason the court system dosen't seem to hold up its end. But even if you protested and brought attention upon these people cooking and doing meth and they were to be arrested, it would be just another slap on the wrist. I agree though that theres something wrong there, I just don't know what it is.

the courts in Knox County are crooked ,and to many people are being paid off to look the other way while children are being abused by this craziness to make a easy dollar instead of working for a living.

How can all the hard work the police officers go on a deaf ear in court? I don't care how much money they have.
These people are killing our young.

Where is all the jail time for the drug addicts, repeat offenders, felons with guns? I mean why are they now walking the streets again. Who is the judge sending them back out? Why does the jail not grow? Why do we have felons at home watching t.v. with electronic devices? Can a felon wearing a device at home still get customers coming to his home? Why are these officers out doing their jobs and risking their lives.

Why do you always have to throw the bible in? There are more people out there besides church abiding citizens. People that don't call themselves christans vote as well. Every comment you make it seems like you bash church and bible. Stop it's annoying and for the most part untruthful. Society today is so quick to jump on the churches.
