A councilman told this weekend that the city council. Will be raising property tax next year when the school does because of how much the losses have been . Just the parks had lost almost 100,000 dollars and west had given one street dept employee a 5.00 dollar a hour raise that the council didn't approve and the clerk said that was almost a 15,000 a year raise but no other workers got a raise why should taxpayers pay for the council mayor or city's mistakes .When I ask how they were not to blame also they were at a loss for words on that one .

Maybe the city is raising taxes to cover the cost of the acre of land that our Judge Executive purchased for a new heli-pad? Who is the owner (s) of Willow Creek Farms? Figure that out and I'm sure other fraud will be revealed. It sounds like a shady deal to me and a lot of other Knox Countians. Come clean Mr. Judge Executive. Who did you pay $215,000 for 1 acre of land? There is plenty of land for sale just off 25E between Gray and Corbin, so why weren't those landowners contacted for pricing? I'm sure there was an acre for sale for much less than $215,000. This is Knox County, not Fayette or Jefferson County. One acre of land in Knox County is not worth that kind of money unless it's being split among a few crooks who have prospered from Knox County tax payers long enough!

Yes you can bet that west will do whatever Jim hall tells him to because hall is paying west to do nothing at the sheriffs dept while he does things for the town on county time this would be called stealing time at any other business other than knox county

The councilmen running for office may not tell the truth but the city clerks office will i called and they said the council will have to raise the property taxes next year because of all the things that the council have done that made the town take in less money call for yourself if your a city taxpayer

There IS such a Simple Answer to ALL of America's financial problems ! Use the vast amount of taxes which would come from nationally legalizing marijuana to education our children and care for our elderly. It would be enough taxes to offer free health-care too everyone. YET, they would consider it because the politicians and the pharmaceutical companies don't want to take the massive hit to their profits or their power.

I knew somebody would be paying for the problems they have caused but it doesn't seem fair to have to pay for what six people have done .
