Well I heard grace community health goes by your income you could try there...have you went to the hospital and tried to apply for DSH? They pay for your bloodwork and things all except the dr. There are many qualifications to obtain a medical card and with you working that rules you out! I haven't insurance either and it's hard! I don't qualify for any type of assistance so I put off dr visits and labs!

I DO MEDICAL BILLING AND IT AMAZES ME HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE A MEDICAL CARD. THE GOVERNMENT DEFINITELY SENDS THE WRONG MESSAGE. DON'T WORK AND YOU GET HELP WITH FOOD, SHELTER, MEDICAL, UTILITIES.....ETC. BUT IF YOU WORK, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN AND DO WITHOUT. MAKES YOU WANNA GIVE UP AND STAY HOME - MY PRIDE WONT LET ME. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD HELP THOSE WHO ARE HELPING THEMSELVES. INSTEAD OF REWARDING THOSE WHO DON'T TRY. SORRY...HAD TO RANT A MINUTE.

Most programs in which doctors carry is based on your income. So, that is mostly what it depends on. Also, how many is in the household.

Baptist Health. It is based on sliding scale income. And then you can see Susan Hodges or Dr. Peterson in B'ville. I did it.

Insurance , definitely makes a difference in what kind of treatment you receieve.Good ins= good treatment. No ins=big problem.Hospitals and dr have signs posted that noone is turned away regardless of ability to pay but it dosen't say what kind of treatment you will receieve.
