Please, I do not recall any account where God tells someone to lie...will you provide the scripture?<quoted text>
I disagree about god not telling lies. There are examples in various stories in which god specifically instructs his followers to lie. How then can you claim that god himself would not lie?
In fact in Genesis he lies. He tells Adam and Eve they will die if they eat the fruit. Yet they do not die. And it is the serpent (later interpreted to be the devil) who tells the actual truth of the matter.
And please don't hand me that "they died a spiritual death" nonsense. The Bible has many, many instances of people dying or being warned of death and it is almost always a literal death. If the authors of Genesis had meant a spiritual death they would have indicated as much.
Therefore, god lies. And you actually have no way of knowing which of his statements are truth or lies...including the path to salvation.
God does not lie in Genesis to Adam and Eve. They did die spiritually the moment they sinned, so I have to still say it and the scripture supports this. Adam and Eve were living very long years until death was allowed in. When they died spiritually, they were no longer able to commune with God in the way that they had-God is a Spirit. Actually, the devil deceived Eve into ignoring the fact that she would die and tricked her to believe that having the choice to choose between good and evil was better than not knowing evil.
God does not lie.
All God's words and promises are true, including God's path to salvation.
