I've always loved this verse. The whole chapter, really, is one big graphic description of what a whore this woman is and all the people she's banged.
Ezekiel 23:19,20:
"Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses."
Sounds like a stage show I once saw in Juarez, Mexico.....

Your right Mike, that was the idea behind what I quoted. I knew the CINOs would jump on that and would twist it into a straw man argument about the quote as Curious and Yaa has often done in the past and ..still want that craziness taught to indoctrinate kids in public schools. I think the link I provided supported with study that show that many Christians have and addiction to porn and are upset when that verse and others are presented to show as you stated could not be words of a moral god.
Maybe that is why the Secret Gospels of Mark was never authenticated, they want to hide the hypocrisy they live by in secret also.
Very interesting, you never explained it that way till Mike put the words in your mouth.

What you said was" You love those verses"

Perhaps you should be careful.

Mike recently wrote that he was raised a Catholic. Now he is an Atheist.

However,he attends Mass with his father when the fancy or desire strikes him.

To his father, Mass must mean a solemn event .

Yet,Mike does not hesitate to mock and ridicule that which his father believes is Holy,

Why is he attending church with his father and then mock and ridicule him?

Pusillanious mind?

Just saying

The bible is full of whore stories and man whores in the bible. I know you like reading about them, How many times have you read this verse over and over, maybe 50 plus times and know so much about it? I wonder about your mental state.
I'm not accusing you of anything unlike yourself that has falsely done to me , but please wash your hands when your done flipping through those naughty sacred bible passages, somebody else may want to read it also while sitting on the privy.
LOL, holy, holy, holy.
Learn to understand what you read before you form a misinformed opinion.

The verses contaiend in Ezekiel are an analogy. He is not talking about 2 women,he is talking about Samaria and Jerusalem

If you were able to read and comprehend whet you read, you would not have posted such an erroneous opinion.

Anyone with a smidgen of reading comprehension would have no problems understanding the point being made.

On the other hand, a perverted mind or someone who is brain dead would not be able to differentiate.

It is what it is.

However, you have managed to get 2 on your side, Mike, who is highly suspect and Quantumist , who travelled to Juarez Mexico in order to satisfy his sexual desires.

Apparently ,while in Juarez , he watched or participated in some show that reminds him of donkey genitals and horse emissions.

Then , you claimed to see the same show . That is what I understood from what you 3 have posted

I most certainly did not travel to Juarez Mexico to satisfy my sexual desires... Traveled there drink way to much Tequila with other soldiers from my unit since the age limit was 21 in Texas at the time and to get burritos from street cart vendors made of mystery meat but are delicious and take in the local culture.... Just happened that part of the local culture happened to be donkey F'in....

The bible verses, not as much as Christians do. I was making fun of those verses. You would like those verses read by children, I don't. That is a big difference between you and I. Introduction to bibles salacious words 101 in public schools. Place the bible on the same shelf as other religions books and next to mythology. So you think Mike has a pusillanimous mind.

Mike, Q, and myself have been in the military some of us tested in war and face the enemy soldiers in battle and sustained injuries for a lifetime. Honorable discharges. What have you done to prove your courage. maynard?

You forgot to mention the essence of other believers truths which have absolutely nothing to do with blood and Jesus.

Take the truths of the Australian Aborigines and their Dreamtime Snake.

There's no blood or Jesus to be seen but those aboriginal truths are just as relevant as yours.

Just watched a documentary called "the source family". It was a hippie cult thing back in the sixties. The family took many videos and pictures, so it was well documented. The remnants of the cult made the movie from what I could tell. It really gives good insight to the hippie cult culture of the era.
Jesus would have fit right in, or would have been the cult leader.
Actually, it was the liberal wealth redistributionists (today's democrats) who had Jesus killed - they were living lavishly by taxing the hell out of the commoners.

And Jesus would not fit the liberal hippy mold - he never climbed up on the hood of police cars and took a shit.

I didn't see the documentary, but I think you're selling the guy way short by comparing him to the stereotypical 60's hippies. He did emphasize "love thy neighbor" but that doesn't literally translate to "peace love dope." The "typical Christian hippie liberals of today" don't really strike me as the anti-establishment activist type. Saving urban wetlands and running homeless shelters, maybe...

Sorry, but I do not see any reason to believe the Jesus was any better than many hippies of the sixties.
The documentary shows how it is easy to obtain a following. The source cult believed the leader was a god. Although it was apparent to me he was no god, it sure seemed relatively easy to trick many to think otherwise.

So your argument is, belief is evidence? Any and all religions can transform ones attitude. By your reasoning, all religions have the same evidence you just claimed.

Do you feel I should tell him how silly crazy eating what you believe to be human flesh is? Sometimes it is better to not tell the whole story to all. The division of family would not be worth it. And thus I go to church with him on occasion. Last time was at his brothers funeral.

By your reasoning, I should never criticize Catholicism.

I guess you just cannot relate, as I am sure your parents are Christian as you are. Likely even the same sect as yourself.

I have been on this thread for a while, so I had good indicators of his purposes for his love for this sort of scripture. I am pretty sure he has said it in many ways, you were just not witness to them. You judged literally upon what he meant while not knowing a thing of the man (Spaceship).
I think the main theme you will see from us atheist here is a demonstration of why the bible is not appropriate for public school. You see, it is the main topic of this thread. You can try to defend the teaching of this vulgar scripture in question to high school kids by government, if you wish. As of yet, you simply jump to character assassination.

I tend to focus on the condoning and ordering of murder, the bible prophets claimed was the wishes of god in the bible. I do not feel it is good to teach that killing for religious purposes is good. The bible does just this, and every Christian here has defended it as of yet. Do you?

I wonder why the writer of this scripture used such vulgar sex acts as his metaphor? I wonder if he was watching donkey shows.

Anyone who has been in the military out west knows of the donkey shows in Juarez. I think few has actually seen any. I see you take everything said in a literal sense, unless it is a metaphor of the bible.

Flipping tables over in the temple was pretty much the equivalent of taking a shit on a police car. Not that every hippie did this.

I really do not think the government in Jesus' time was redistributing the wealth. More like hoarding it for themselves and spending it on war. Seems pretty much like the typical republican. Either way, no matter if the government was liberal or conservative, Jesus was to the left of them.
If you wish to make a case he was to the right of them, go for it. The floor is yours.
