I also believe the people that wrote of what you're referencing, certainly might've felt that way, if having witnessed a great flood.
When? 3.5 billion years ago? Snowball Earth 650 million years ago? Maybe, and not relevant. The Babble says the flood covered the highest mountains to a depth of 15 cubits.(for Mt. Ararat that means 16,854 feet =/- 26 feet) a mere 6,000 years ago. A global catastrophe that would take thousands of years to recover from and would leave unmistakable evidence - NONE OF WHICH EXISTS.

Even if the story were true, it is still scare tactic. And the fact your religion feels a need to scare people into following it is evidence of it being false, and certainly low on morality.

The day YaA (or such similar) lock the doors of a classroom and forces you to listen to anything out of a "religiously catalogued" book, for nothing but the sake of "indoctrination" THEN you might have issue to complain about.
But you would probably have to complain louder than the vociferous complaining about the wretchedness of Algebra-by GOSH.
Ok, so we see your criteria, now do care about anyone else's? I am not going to wait quietly while YaA gets his way. You see, it is the mentality like yours that allows for the extremists like YaA to get his way. Just read a history book.

<quoted text>As Freemasons they had to proclaim a belief in a Supreme Being and pick a religion. It is very doubtful either of them is a born-again Christian as the Bible clearly teaches you cannot serve two masters - Masonry and God.
So you believe Masonry is a master? That is kind of like calling an employer a master.
I guess by your standards, none of the founding fathers were born again Christian.

So if our president (Obama) ordered our troops to kill the children of Iraq just as Moses detailed here, you would not call it a war crime, or murder?
Thanks again for showing us how religion and the bible has warped your sense of morality and justice.
It is bad that the innocent children often get killed in a collateral damage sense. To target them as Moses did is considered an atrocity by normal, moral humans.

What also blows my mind is, Sista thinks I should just keep quite until you religious fanatics get your way. Sorry, but I am going to speak out against the ideas you project as long as I see them as immoral, and highly problematic.

So what? How does that justify a fictitious god would be righteous for murdering children and raping women. It appears you see no wrong in the slaughter of innocent children. Hitler thought the same as you. How are you any different with your theology?
What do you think about the Jehovah's Witnesses refusing blood transfusions for their children?
Do you consider that murder, manslaughter or suicide by gods will?
Well most of the JW's sat silently as Hitler had the innocent children slaughtered. So now we can see what was in their disturbed minds that kept them silent. The bible is the problem, and the likes of Sista are no better by fighting on their side, and being on a mission of silencing opposition.

Not even similar.
What WOULD be similar, would be if you had stated you'd made a journey upon a great beast, to the ends of the earth, through pillars of water that fell from the sky to obtain some cow juice.
Go ahead, read that "verbatim".
And as far as the rest, it's just Constitutional, rather than commie marxist. That doesn't mean I always agree with others perspectives however., because I don't either,
I just see no need to ATTACK for it...finding such to be rather barbaric AND dark age.
Take note how some of the verbatim extremists here feel it is not murder to target killing innocent children and taking virgin children for your own, is not immoral as it was part of war. These ideas were directly due to the words of the bible. And part of the problem is, he is not really misinterpreting the bible, he is just following it. And part of the problem is, you are here enabling it.

Even after presenting another written example from an article of a British museum curator mentioning the same type perspective.
After awhile, repeatedly dealing with that type of "density" that just doesn't seem to "get it"...IT being-that there are LOTS of different perspectives floating around in this world on lots of different issues, just gets to be Annoying Duquette. Do we need to make a special remedial sub-thread on this thread for the same?
First, I know how you like to play word games, so who knows just what you actually mean when you claim the whole world was once covered by water. I cannot know if you mean all at once, or was it flowing water, or frozen water, as their is a theory about a frozen earth at one point in time, but that was a few billion years before humans could have seen it.

So I have a hard time even communicating with you as your history has cried wolf one to many times.

But my main points stand. The story in the bible is so far from what is fact, it becomes a problem. You just ignore the problems. Well I am not a pacifist.

SistaIGotNothing calls your explaination of why you disagree with him, "attacking" him.

Whereas when he disagrees with someone (make that pretty much everyone) and writes paragraph long insults, he seems to feel he is being a good little Christian by "rebuking and correcting."
After all, he is right and the rest of humanity is wrong....
