I believe teaching Bible in schools would give a child a more rounded education. Not only would it give them a better understanding of references made to the Bible by authors of other works of literature which are required reading; but it would also give them a deeper insight into our history, culture and current events in the world.
A more rounded education would be a religion class, not a class about the bible.

I personally think it would be wonderful to bring the
word of God to our children. It appears that there
are thousands that never hear Gods' word, school shootings, rape, drugs are rampant, our children live
in a scary and dangerous world. Think people, our
God created this world, our children and every thing
in the world-isn't it about time we started letting
the truth , as we know it, be known? I am so concerned about the youth of today, I feel sorry for them, they have such a struggle to find their way through life. Let's pray for a solution to the drug problem that is sucking the very life out of our young. We never know the potential of a young person life or the contribution he/she will make, why let sin deny that person of what they may be capable of??

So is OUR debt!
Your point???
I was proud when he was sworn in...
America having a Black man in office of POTUS!
God told me to hold off on that pride, and the very next day...
He showed his true colors, and has EVERY DAY SINCE!
As a White, Conservative, Christian, a member of the Tea Party, and the ACLJ...
I can truly tell you two things:
(1) I do not hate... Him, or anyone!
(2) It is NOT the color of his skin, but the content of his

You have to realize that your debate is mostly with atheists. You are getting mostly a free ride from other Christians on Topix that are critical of your beliefs. Since you live in a small world you should try debating on some of the religious threads on Topix. Then you would understand clearly that you would be rejected as having some sacred knowledge by those you claim do not worship the same God that you understand to be.

A good example would be Obama. He claims to be christian yet you reject him. Catholics, Mormons, JW's, Seventh Day Adventist and most Protestants.

You also expect us to accept your claims that your God is so partial that he saved you and allowed children to die of cancer and other horrific ways also.

You're making claims and cannot show proof of claims, you only say believe me. I reject your beliefs based on the fact there is not one shed of evidence that proves otherwise.

The right thing to do is not vow to something that has not been proven.

Again the facts are, America's founding principle is secularism. Did it pop out of nowhere? Nope, the philosophers that were called atheists, blasphemes and evil doers spoke of secularism long before it became the foundation of any nation.

I do not "hate" the Bible, I just choose to look for the GOOD in it, rather than obsess on the bad parts-Especially just to try and use them to CONDEMN others in warped sick, twisted distortions.
I am a believer in "higher powers". Very much so, and think only fools would not be.
That last sentence is judging atheists as fools. So you judge them based upon their creed.
Not sure if it gets any more black and white.
Sista is a hypocrite.
Wrong.

Creed has nothing to do with it, and neither does judging, because actually, that statement was more along the lines of "common sense"

Wish to know why I say that? I will tell you anyway, so that maybe you can drag your little kindergarten level, name calling, pea brain, out of the kiddie sandbox..

Unless one lives on a deserted island unto themselves, "higher powers" are generally everywhere, in some form or another.

That's just reality.

A lot of people "claim" to be Christians, but Obama???
He can claim all he wants to... If you "Think" he's a Christian
by his actions... so be it!
It would prove my claim of your ignorance!

Why did God keep me alive, and let others die??? ask Him!
He did save my life many times, and my soul once!

Death is but a door to judgment!
Do you think God would judge children the same way
he'd judge Sandusky???

1. Sandusky
No! The bible says God to put children to death for cursing their parents. Sandusky could rape a virgin child and just pay 50 shekels of silver to the father.

2.Lots of peoples claim to be christian including Obama.

Yes! You claim I'm ignorant because I think Obama Christian, Obama is the one who thinks he is Christian not I. Does that mean God is real? No!

3. Why did God keep you alive and not others? If I ask God that question then I would be as delusional and ignorant as you.

You will note it was women who spoke up to change religious theocratic laws to stop the raping of young virgin girls in America. A secular campaign by women to end this disgraceful act by states was successful.

Good grief. You idiots are still arguing this shit?

Over 100,000 posts. And you have accomplished....? Jack. Nada. All this time and effort. Nice job. All these countless hours. 1,000's of them. Wasted in an exercise of mental masturbation.

I haven't been here in well over a year and yet, here you all are. Still. Accomplishing nothing. Changing no one's mind. Just arguing. I wonder how many people you could have actually done something for that actually need help with this wasted effort?

Pathetic.

See you in another year.

How true,how true.
I may not be the right person to comment as I have been participating in this ongoing discussion for about 8 months.
What confounds me and I can not understand is why Atheists , who claim there is no God , can go on , year after year , debating that which they claim does not exist , while demanding evidence from those of us who believe , to provide them with evidence of God's existence.
Somehow that does not compute.
I believe that their subconscious is attempting to tell them that
they are being deceived , thereby ,,their continuous search for him whom their misguided minds tells them does not exist.
Freud ,himself being an Atheist , knew exactly what their problem is. Unfortunately , he did not apply the solution to himself.
Must be a mental block inherent in Atheists.
It is not likely I will be here next year.
But if you come back ,,you will find the same Atheists mAking the same nonsensical arguments , albeit , under different monikers.
Nevertheless , do not be deceived. There aren't as many as would appear.
I believe there are 2 , no moe than 3 ,masquerading under 3 to 5 different monikers.
One of them claims Lake Apopka is infesred with 3 eyed alligators.
Watch out for him......

What you believe is inconsequential, what you type is even less. I told you not to drink the water from Lake Apopka when you moved to Winter Garden. I don't know where you came up with the three eyed alligator story, but it is a running joke in the area. If you were a resident instead of just another transplanted snowbird you might have known that.
Lake Apopka used to be a prime bass fishing lake, but now it's one of the most polluted bodies of water in Florida, thanks to the almighty dollar and sweetheart deals, which I'm sure anti-EPA freaks like yourself endorse as an acceptable SOP. It's costing millions to slowly remove the primary contaminates and the lake will never be even close to 100% restored. Bird kills and Genetic defects in the wildlife from chemical spills and agricultural runoff are well documented, and in the last decade it was one of the few areas where alligator populations were actually on the decline.

Your first sentence shows just how partisan you are. And claiming so arrogantly "they are correct" is a denial of the reality of what can be known about what system is better.
I would never claim either system is correct. They are a matter of personal opinion. Both sides have views that have views based upon moral obligations that have no basis in absolutes. It is opinion. And to claim it is otherwise is a gross lack of open thought.
