The christian cult does not prepare its followers to ask questions because they do not give them real information or allow them to think for themselves. The answers are always going to be vague or no answer given.

I'll bet you do not know who affirms God's words to the Believers in Christ...
So I'll tell you!
It is the Holy Spirit...
I hope you get to know what I'm saying "Personally", as
when/if you do... You'll KNOW just how ignorant you are/were!
Thing is... YOU have to want to, so I see at this time...
You'll just remain ignorant!
Good luck with that!

The holy spirit? Wow, you just make up gods and then try to justify your other (evil) gods with the new ones.

"The Holy Spirit?" Oh, you mean that little voice inside your head that says "hey, I LIKE that so I'll believe it?" No evidence necessary, just your own desires.

You are so gleeful pointing out other people's "ignorance."
It's too bad YOU don't realize how ignorant YOU are.
You make a fool of yourself daily.

Has anyone every noticed how often christian zealots use capslock compared to normal people?

It's like you can hear their brains screaming out as they claw for a way to hold onto their irrational certainty in their beliefs.

It isn't always the voice inside their heads. Sometimes it's just plain expediency. Like when gentiles were offended with the Jewish custom of circumcision - Paul had no problem understanding that membership would drop off if they insisted on it, so it was "the Holy Spirit" that said "Uh, okay. New plan. Give them a pass on that one." In fact, after the crucifixion, EVERY decision has been made by "the Holy Spirit." How convenient - unless you're a blasphemer, sinner or sane.

Oh well not good at isolating until something is accomplished. So no how they mean it, not going silent..
But say 'Thank you' anyway.
Take account of all that is in your possession.
A mind. A heart. A body.
A life that breathes, even if for just one more day.
Now count the eyes that have smiled
at you on your wild journey,
the hands that have held you tenderly,
the ears that have listened,
the prayers that have been made on your behalf.
And whisper your 'Thank you' again.
Count the sky that has watched you grow
with His painted eyes,
The heaving waves that find their echo
in the tides of your breathing,
The little birds that have sung
you their songs,
The stars which have been a lamp
to your path,
and are your
rightful inheritance.
Count unexpected laughter,
Count undeserved grace,
Count Passion and Love making and Dreams yet to be born,
And bow your head and say 'thank you',
Now count the lives who still need your light,
The hungry, the sick, the helpless,
the ones , who will die today
and imagine if with the breath of your body
you could help justone.
Turn your face to the sun,
And know yourself as a child of the light.
You are the Goodness that cannot be extinguished,
The love that burns through the darkest night.
And perhaps,In turning
You will see what i have seen,
that this day where everything seemed wrong,
was not your curse,
It was your gift,
Your chance...
To find inside yourself a forgotten 'thank you',
To smile in the face of the grim suppressors,
To stand in the heart of the glowering darkness
and turn your face to the sun.

I was referring to the accuracy of a Holy Bible compared to the Machinist's Bible. Of course there is no contest unless you are one who is prone to believing that slapping pages from Watch Tower under windshield wipers is part of Jehovah's Grand Plan for Eternal Salvation of the Everlasting Soul.
...so in 2010 the average machinist made less than $40k and the average pay of a Southern Baptist minister was around $55k (annual package value around $66k). JW clergy compensation is quite a bit harder to discover as the front line are generally "bi-vocational." If there is a dollar figure attached to stipends, compensations and gifts, I didn't find it. I've also found it difficult to discover how much the assorted clergies are adding to the GNP.
Nope, never been to Somerset. I was just looking for some reason for the incoherence of the poster I was responding to.
The US should've dropped tax exemption statuses on churches, 501-C's AND government purchases a long time ago....it would undoubtedly curb at least some paper product waste.

Never been to Somerset either.

Wasn't the starting rate around of vocational machinists around 19k?

Now, how is it, we have an economy where people who are earning average working class wages like that, are expected to pay the Ridiculously Over-inflated free market health insurance prices, AND cover the ones who pay NOTHING at all?

Fed sales tax 'em ALL (double the parasite no fed tax states)-NO exclusions.

Based on the content of your posts I highly doubt you research at all. You basically just keep saying the same thing over and over without addressing any arguments directly.
If you were going to do research on a topic such as human sexuality where would you begin? What kinds of sources would you go to? What would be your method for discerning quality information from bad information?
We have a public library here in our neighborhood that is one good place to go to do research on almost any subject. There is Wickipedia on line. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society publishes information on almost any subject and every article is well reasearched and the source is listed so one can check for accurcy. I watch quite a bit of TV like the History channel. I am always careful to not accept everything. Some sources are very misleading especially information about Jehovah's Witnesses. I am always surprised how so many will post outright lies with nothing to support their statements.
Now I've revealed some of the sources for my information.
I await for your sources and how you determine if something is true or not.

I think you have it backwards----you just described evolutionist not Jehovah's Witnesses.
I was just thinking today---they sent up a rocket today----in order to send it and get it to go where they want it to go they must rely on universal laws. Those laws are so accurate they can rely on them. With laws there must be a law giver!

Public libraries are fantastic sources of information. The Watchtower is unequivocally NOT a good source of information. If you think their writings are well researched then you do not understand what the word “research” actually means. Their writings are intended to make you believe in JW, period and end of story. Truth is not part of their agenda. You do not get at truth by holding a concrete belief and then forcing everything else to fit that belief. Rather, you begin with as few biases as possible and allow the evidence to guide you. According to most theist faiths allowing reason and evidence to guide you is tantamount to giving Satan a key to your house.

Talkorigins has a great little critique of the JW book “Life”, which is a notoriously deceptive anti-science religious text that they pass off as a “science” book.

http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/jw-book.html

The History Channel is a joke. Ask anyone who knows anything about anything. When you call yourself History Channel and your primary programming is about aliens and pawn shops you have a serious problem. Discovery Channel is just as terrible.

Now, you've revealed some of your sources of information. But the heart of my question to you was how do you determine the merit of information? How do you evaluate a truth claim about the world?

For example, if I said to you “There is probably no such thing as ghosts.” what would be your response? What method would you use to decide if you agree or not? Your sources are important, but they are secondary to your method. Even the Public Library has crap books.

Sure... you may help feed some kids, or whatever, but does
that negate your support of Plannened baby killers?
No! Not at all!
