From my reading, animism (the belief that everything is "animated" by spirits) seems to be the oldest.
Primitive peoples tried to identify with the prey by wearing hides and skins or antlers and performing rituals, perhaps to understand the animal in order to better hunt them.
That's probably true. It seems to make the most sense.

And it's a perfect illustration of why God of the Gaps is such a huge fallacy. We put on deer antlers so we can control the deer or obtain its power. Then we create a god based on the deer. Then a church based on the god. Then we learn what makes a deer tick. We learn about the biology of the deer. We lose interest in the temple, in the god, in wearing antlers. We don't need it anymore. Now we think god resides in the areas where we don't know something, like "prior" to the Big Bang.

God is the sun. The sun is energy, feeding the earth. Ok, then god is the earth. The earth is rock and metal spinning and rotating and traveling around the sun. Ok, god is the motion of the heavenly bodies. The motion is the effect of gravity and certain other physical "laws" that we can predict with a surprising accuracy. Well then god is the unpredictable nature of quantum physics...

God's place gets smaller and smaller. God of the Gaps. Makes much more sense to simply accept that there isn't any evidence to have a belief in god. Atheism is that position.

Very eye opening, forgive and forget , opening your heart to even the bad..

The Bath School disaster is the historical name of the violent attacks perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927 in Bath Township, Michigan that killed 38 elementary school children and 6 adults, and injured at least 58 other people. Kehoe first killed his wife, fire-bombed his farm and set off a major explosion in the Bath Consolidated School, before committing suicide by detonating a final explosion in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder in a school in United States history.

Great, about time someone put the Bible back in school. Maybe then their would be some decency in schools and less killings.Have you ever noticed since they banned the bible in schools the killings have increased as well moral degeneration. Think about it.

there are many different ppl that wrote parts of the bible, why do u think it contradicts itself so much. cuz its nto inspired by god, it is a group of ppl that couldnt keep the story straight in their pursuit of power and money and control. what better way to keep the poor from killin the ones with the money and power, put a sky daddy in the pic so that all the poor stay dumb and scared to stand up and say we deserve our share cuz we do the work for the rich to get the money they got. but thanx to god and hell the ppl think they will get teh reward after tehy die therefore becomin the slaves to the rich business owners and such. if it were inspired by god i dont think we would need interpretation and cross referencing and twisted scripture to make it viable for reality and common sense.
I do not want to put you on a spot but can you provide a list of the contridictions you refer to that are supposed to be in the Bible.
