<quoted text>When individuals work as a group, E.G. the Westburro baptist church, it is the collective whole that the responsibility for the actions are placed upon. Same for a larger group of people who say they are "good" and condemn every one who does not follow their beliefs.
Yes, there are some good people who TRY to follow the teachings of their Christ, they are few and far between. The majority of "christians" are a social club (cult) that want to elevate themselves and defame others. They pass judgment on every one else and try to force their desires on to every one.
The bible is a fictional book, but christians claim that it is "the word of god" so by their claim it is the god they worship that has demanded animal blood ritual sacrifice (dont we condemn the Aztecs for that?) and placed the price of a virgin (as well as demanding the death of girls who get raped) etc...
Each and every evil act in the bible was written to justify the Jewish peoples actions. But this is what todays christians claim to worship.
In reality christians do not even read their bible and make stuff up or change it around.(how do you change god telling you to rejoice as you bash babies against rocks?) They worship social status and wealth not some imaginary god.
Most of todays christians use church to justify their hate and perversions just like the Jewish people did when they made up the bible
If you want to believe that, fine. But Westboro Church does not represent all Christians. In fact, not all Jews are the same, not all Catholics are the same, not all Muslims are the same, etc. Religions are unlike small groups in that the motives are different. I know atheists that are just as zealous as Christians, does that mean ALL atheists are zealots??? No. lol!

Much of the Bible is historic fact. Many of those wars did happen, many of those kingdoms did exist, many of the people, like Samuel who told the people God's warning of having a government, did exist, etc. What is fictitious is the supernatural stories - but by claiming the whole Bible is a lie is to look very ignorant.

"Most of todays christians use church to justify their hate and perversions just like the Jewish people did when they made up the bible." So INDIVIDUALS are to blame for their actions?! lol!

Since you refuse to look up the word "customs", given you keep mentioning them out of context. I will reply to you no further. Thank you for the disucssion.

We have not proved nor disproved the existence of a "supreme being"..........YET I'M STILL BOUND TO A RELIGION. I STILL SERVE A gOD AND STILL ADHERE TO THE RIGOROUS RITUALS AND CEREMONIES AS DICTATED BY MY OWN SILLY RELIGION.
My being alive is proof that prayer does nothing because of all of the christians praying that I die.
Show them you're in charge, Chester!
Take matters into your own hands! Kill yourself! That'll show them that you and you alone control your destiny.
F uck all those meanies who pray for you to die at the hands of a god.
Show them who's boss!

Grrrrrr!!

So it was the "custom" of the Jewish people to sacrifice animals and babies to the god that the christians worship?

You left out the part about growing up as a Christian then losing your faith in the hardships of teenage angst.
Feeling your god had abandoned you, you began to question and your bitterness slowly pulled you by a leash through the back alley of doubt until you finally, defiantly raised your fist in the air and said through tears, "Well god if you ain't gonna be my genie, I ain't gonna serve you no more."
*sniffle, sniffle*
A failed Christian. A heathen.
Now, you find yourself on topix: the hillbilly MENSA forum, thinking you're executing your revenge on the "god who ignored you" and all his followers. That'll show him! LOL
Too bad you're still undecided about how you really feel.... "was" agnostic, now the "needle" is fluctuating again. Maybe one day, you'll find the mental fortitude to call yourself an Atheist. Until then continue to nurse your doubts.
Former religious NUTS....*sigh*
Prove their is a god, you can't ,so........

You said long ago because of your "priest" status, you don't pay taxes, so you don't have the right to bitch.

Obviously, you lied again, Chester.

Prove "their" is a dictionary in your house.

It's spelled "There," MENSA man.

Who said I believed in a god? I'm openly ridiculing you hypocritical religious NUTS and you ask me to prove THERE is a god?
You ride the short bus to school, don't, you, Spacely?

Newsflash: if YOU'RE an Agnostic, YOU are not 100% sure there is or isn't a god. YOU have uncertainty.

Atheists; however have no doubts about what they believe.
I have NO doubts.
How did that taste? Bitter, I'm guessing.

"Was" is the key word in your silly fallacy.

A least the Jews finally stopped the practice. Animal sacrifice is not a part of Judaism today.

Some forms of satanism; however, still practice barbaric animal sacrifice today. Explain why you satanic NUTS do it and you'll have answered your own question. Is it custom, religious instruction, or just a fun hobby?

This is why we need to end the 50 years of giving money to Haiti, and other countries.
The "safety net" has been abused and needs reform, some times people need help. Years of unemployment? Blow me! Six months and thats all. But the elderly whom have paid in to the system, paid taxes, built the roads we drive on and the public buildings we use deserve their benefits.(they paid for them)
Welfare? two years tops. Have 4 kids? Give them up to a family member who can afford them we only help with the first two. Can not work because you have kids? Then work at a daycare so single mothers can work.
But I am a socialist when it comes to education and NEEDED health care (got the sniffles? Get over it!)
As a "civilized society" we do have to pay a price. Taxes pay for military protection, police protection, fire dept. roads schools and so much more

But what about the people who work at grocery stores and gas stations?(or chinamart) They work, and some one has to do their jobs. The business will not pay them enough to live on (chinamart is the worst offender)
Do they get assistance for years? If they "get a better job" who will fix your burger at Wendy's or cash you out at Kroger's?
How will our troll live off of his pay from Taco Bell?

A few hours ago you stated you were an agnostic until I ridiculed you; now you're suddenly a bonafide atheist. LOL
Imagine that.

"Ooooo, I'm an agnostic. Nope, nope. I'm an atheist. Noooo..wait a minute. There goes the needle.... ATHEIST! Wait. Hold up. I'm an Agnostic again."

Can you say "Flip Flop"?

Yes, Spacely, I'm the "lonely" one because I'm on topix ridiculing you hypocrites and religious NUTS who struggle with uncertainty. And, you're on topix why? For the intellectualism?

"gunjee"? Speaking of spelling bees... LOL

No. You said you WERE an agnostic for a long time and now the "needle" has MOVED to atheist.

Your illiterate words:
" I for a long time was agnostic and now the needle for me has move to atheist. "
That doesn't sound at all like the certainty of an atheist or you would've said you are most absolutely an atheist... not just leaning toward it.

As if you're looking at an imaginary fluctuating odometer, you analyze your beliefs with such blatant uncertainty.... "Yeah, I'm kinda leanin' toward atheism today." ROFL

Just think about all those years ("I for a long time was agnostic") you wasted wallowing in doubt wondering why your god was ignoring you.
Now, suddenly, after your hypocrisy is exposed, and you're embarrassed, you're a die hard Atheist!
I'm going to call you FLIPPER from now on.

Yes I have read it. There are many distortions of the Bible. First, "EvilBible" doesn't cover the Bible in detail, and there are many things out of context. I used to love that site, until I started seeing the lies. Also, much of the violence in the Bible was stuff God warned AGAINST. But God gave us free will. Would you rather he stop us from doing what we choose? No you wouldn't, that is if he exists. Second, much of the customs in the Bible were cultural, not divine.
I swing the question to you. Have you read it? If so, did you understand it's history and culture, not just the spiritual passages?
Good post!
The ones that don't like the Bible, do not understand the BIG Picture of it!
If they ever had a "God experience"...
They'd be here posting on the Pro side!

Good, force religion on our children since the parent is to lazy to go to church on sunday. Use my taxes to teach my kids fairy tails about your invisible friend, if this passes my honor student children will be moving.
