Just the name of this post chaps me====Jeffrey Chavies Innocent Man gets 70 years===If he was innocent, then why was he found guilty? This a crime against a child, 70 years in my opinion is still not enough. This man ruined this childs life, it is something she will have to live with the rest of her life. No amount of "Counseling" or anything will ever help this child deal with the horror of having her child hood taken away from her. "70" years is not the sentence I would have given him, I would have given him the death sentence, plain and simple. With no chance of retrial or the BS that goes on for 20 years following a "Death Sentence" in the United States. It would have been carried out immediately, following the sentence of the crime, and done right their on the court house square. I am sorry to say, but I for one am all for corporal punishment. And I believe it should be carried out immediately, not 20 years later. I feel sorry for the family of this young man, but according to the courts and the law he was guilty, found guilty by a trial jury of 12 of his peers. I do not know this young man or his family, only what I read, if he done this and was found guilty, he needs to pay for what he done and be taken out of human society. Because he has no place in it. To my belief if they brought back such things as court house hangings, the crime rate would stop in its tracts. I think alot of crimes should be placed in this catagory, of just plain and simple hanging, taken out of the court house and hanged immediately. They did in the old days, now they won't even allow them to die if they think their in pain while they are dying. They should be in pain, for what they have done. And all the pain they have caused the familys of the person or persons they hurt. It may just be the opinion of one person. But it's mine and I believe in it.
