What is the deal with Knox County bus drivers. Robert Partin will not turn on the inside lights when the kids get on the bus. My family and me both have asked him to turn on the lights, we have also spoke to Jeff Ketcham. Nothing is being done. The kids are getting on the bus while it is still dark and are not able to see the walk way very good on the bus. I have also went to the Board of Education and have not received a return phone call. I do know that if my child gets hurt because the bus driver is to lazy to turn on the inside lights, I will have a lawsuit, this is a safety of the children. I also thought that the strobe light on top was supposed to be on at all times, his is never on. If it is tore up, then he needs to get it fixed.

What a thing to make a post about. Why did you include all the bus drivers?HOw old are? You must have forgotten from when you were a child you really don't need no light to walk down the isle on a school bus unless you are blind. Can your child see ok if so I don't see where you have a problem.Where do you work? Where does your husband work?I am jealous I want your life how cool when all you have to worry about is whether or not the bus drivers remember to turn the light on at every stop. By the way you can volunteer to ride the bus with your child if you are that concerned you can even get paid for it.

I do think all the buses need monitors. And I think all their employees need drug tested cook teachers and yes bus drivers. And then see how many jobs open up.Look what happened in Clay co. Teacher high on pills. I just wonder how many county employess would keep their jobs.I bet they would be alot looking for new jobs.

They also need to slow down. I know they have to pick up a lot of students to get them to school on time, and they have to get them home, but going up these hollows driving like they're on 25E could cause an accident.

this shows how ignorant you are....if you drove a bus you would know that there is a law about having your dome lights on when operating a bus....and just because you have a problem with one bus driver, you shouldn't be putting the rest of us down...

I don't think there should be bus monitors on school buses. It is a waste of tax payers money. What there should be is paddleing so that when the bus driver arrives at school in the morning he can tell the principal about the curseing, fighting, smokeing, and what ever else bad behaviour the children engages in.When the child realizes he is going to get his behind spank. You will see happier, calmer children. And then you will be able to have more competent people wanting to drive the buses.I don't know why anyone would want to drive a school bus the pay sucks, the parents suck, get out of bed at 5 o clock in the morning to go be treated like crap.

I hate to admit this is all true. When they took paddling outta the school. And the kids think they dont have to listen. I know I am a parent. Its called child abuse. And time out does not work. Sorry But I would not want to ever drive a bus. And I have kids and I know they are mean. And I know if they think they can get by with stuff they will lie. And If A parent thinks they have a perfect child. I feel sorry for them. But I do think there needs to be safety to be considered as well.

Exactly! what is a bus monitor going to do when... say.. two huge guys get into a fight on the bus??? Oh I totally agree with you!! There should be spanking back in the schools. The kids know they can do whatever the heck they want to do and there are no consequences for their actions. In school detentions, suspensions, they laugh at that. Let Mike Baker or Larry Hamblin swing a paddle at them like they did back in my day and see how they like it. Back then though, if we got paddled at school, we got it at home too for being disrepectful in school.

It first went from safety issues to being the childrens fault. I have some concerns myself about my childrens bus driver. He has been asking my kids questions about me and to me that is harrasment. You do not ask young kids questions that do not concern them. If he wants to know something about the parent he should ask the parent, but it is questions that are none of his buisness. If it keeps happening I will get in touch with the board.

well you got me curious what kind of questions? But I did not mean to say it was the childrens fault. But the children are misbehaving more then what we did because there is no punishment. It is hard for a driver to keep his eyes on the road and the children at the same time.Try to put yourself in their place 40 children in a confined place it isn't even like the teachers who can pull their seats away from each other. They can be as many as 3 to a seat. And then if they get hurt on the bus by another child you are angry and blameing the bus driver. You can go to the board if you want trust me they get plenty of it.Now you are claiming harrassment because he ask a question.Like I said before I have no ideal why anyone would want to drive a school bus.
